RACE.
My GPS showed 21.6, but no biggie.
My plan was to start with 4:30 /km and around half way point, if I feel good, raise the tempo.
In reality, I controlled the first 7-8km nicely, let people pass, knowing I would get them all later on. So I kept steady 4:20 /km for the first 8km or so.
Next I stepped on the gas a little, I started to catch a lot of people, so 8-16km was just catching everyone in front of me, for they started out too fast. Got all my triathlon club mates also, awesome.
Around 16km mark I started to push also, fortunately there was a guy who had nice tempo just around my limit, so we pulled each other for the next 4km, tempo was just 3:50 /km then. In the end I just gave all I had left and finished in 1:29:26, which was better than the most optimistic goal (1:30) for today. My overall goal was 1:35, but I was just too fast!
Last 5km were really hard, legs went soft in the end and I was suffering nicely, fortunately I like it. Now my legs are stiff as hell, so I know I did a good job today.
Overall place was 141/1085.
WU for the race. Did some faster movements also.
