Helped my friend Cindy move. Carried a lot of stuff down stairs and up a ramp into a moving truck. The woman has soooo much stuff.

8:45pm: Man, I am wasted. Pat's Run this morning, came home and took a shower, and then went over with Z to our friend Cindy's house in East Mesa to help her move. Cindy has cut our hair for the past two and a half years and is awesome. There were six other people there to help and it took us all a bit more than an hour to haul all the stuff from her second floor condo (lots of going up and down stairs) to the moving truck. She took us all out for lunch afterwards (I only made it through half a beer) and I came home and took a much-needed nap. I'm still going to sleep like a baby tonight.

April 6

10:55pm: There is a fireworks display inexplicably going on to the east of me, sort of beyond the stadium. It has been going on for five minutes. Hrm. It appears someone has a lot of leftover Christmas colors. Weird!!

5:10pm: I feel much better today, so I walked over to the Pat's Run registration area and registered and got my packet - #10269. There were like twenty other people there - the newspaper said they were expecting upwards of 10,000 people there. Yow. The "free" t-shirt you get is actually pretty nice (technical fabric) and I'm surprised that the women's medium actually fits okay (it's a little baggy but workable). Good luck to everyone else racing tomorrow!

April 5

10:20pm: I'm not sure if I'm in the midst of a wicked bad allergy attack or if I'm getting sick - my eyes feel like there are shards of glass in them, I have a little lump in my throat, and I feel kind of spacey and feverish. I didn't sleep well last night either. Bleh! This somehow always happens right before races, which is why I never register in advance for things.

  • Health data: Sick: 2

Yoga Today episode 299 - Achieve Emotional Balance Through the Breath with Adi Amar - pretty basic ashtanga-style class.

10:15pm: Got stuck late at work today on a bug. Meh. Going to run after work tomorrow. I'll probably go register for Pat's Run on Friday - I thiiiink I can manage waking up by 8am to go race (I'm such a morning slug). I need to go buy food (and dog food) at some point... I was going to do that today but I was pretty wasted after work and just went home to relax with some crappy television. I love crappy television sometimes.

Run
  • 41m 42s
  • 4.00 miles
  • 10m 25s /Mi

Treadmill. I am somehow getting near my 5k pace from the 5k I did last October.

7:35pm: I guess I have to start getting up early if I want to run when it's not 90+ degrees outside. Meh.

I really need to go buy food. For some reason I keep not buying food and I just had cookies and root beer for dinner. I think I might have some chicken broth and noodles lying around somewhere... (I go through spates of cooking a lot and then not wanting to cook at all).

April 2

Rest day. We went to see Al Gore speak at Gammage, which was on the inspiring side. They gave us free lightbulbs. Then we went to Cafe Boa for happy hour, where we overheard a conversation at the bar between two girls which was so vapid it gave us very little hope for humanity.

April 1

Run
  • 43m 15s
  • 3.75 miles
  • 11m 31s /Mi

Tempe Town Lake / Lopiano Habitat. Note to self: do not eat chorizo, spinach, and cheese filled crepes covered with cream sauce at the Barrio Cafe (or anywhere) before running in 90 degree weather. Duh. Ow. Cramp.

  • 55m

Yoga Today episode 298 - Building a Strong Core with Sarah Kline

10:20pm: I like yoga. I don't know if I'm going to get a workout in tomorrow because Z got us tickets to go see Al Gore speak. Sweet!

5:10pm: It is hot again and there have been crappy jam bands outside my house all day.
