I took my first steps (literally) back to running, doing 2 miles of brisk walking, per doctor's orders. I do have a dull ache in my heel, something like a 1-2. It's gonna be a long road back!

bike to work; when I went to put my bags on my rack, the whole rack shifted. It was only then I found out I had lost the bolt that attaches the rack to the dropout. Got a late start after getting that fixed.

Saw my foot doc this morning; he says it's time to get back to running and no more PT. He says to start with vigorous walking, 2 miles this weekend, ice afterward. From there I keep at the vigorous walking twice a week and start to add in a very little bit of jogging, ice afterward. Continue to increase the distance and frequency of the running but build it up very slowly. He said that 3 months of rest, cortisone, and 2 months of therapy is enough to get this better and that basically I should push through the pain! I'm scared!

I'm gonna talk to my therapist about what I can/should do at home.

Wish me well!

what I really wanted to do today was bike to work but dark+rain=unsafe; I thought about doing some trainer riding but decided that it would be best to take a rest day...So.Hard.To.Do!

PT felt especially hard today...oh my aching quads!

The therapist's evaluation says that I'm showing improvement in foot/ankle strength but that I'm still unable to run without pain. She also said that she was surprised to find some weakness in my quads and hams. She's recommending another 4 weeks of PT and hopes to have me running pain free by the end.

---

On Sunday I felt weak and uncomfortable on my ride and cut it short, yesterday I bonked during my swim, today the PT felt really hard; seems like something is up with my body. So, for tomorrow, rest day or easy spin on the bike trainer?
