Guesstimate on the distance since the Polar pod didn't want to do his job (HR too!).

Silly thing to run in this cold, especially when someone stops you in that freakin' temperature and asks how he could go somewhere with his truck AND trailer, when in an area where he can't back up even if he needs to! And by the way buddy, no, I won't get in your truck!

I skipped the 5h30 swim this morning since I went yesterday afternoon. I wanted to enjoy the last days of "not having" to put the alarm. I'll try to go play outside today but it'll depend on how courageous I feel (see#4).

Revenge. Does that really bring satisfaction? Or simply some relief?

Day 4 of antibiotics. I guess it's getting a little better.

It's -22F today with the windchill.

The shins are better. I'll start to run again tomorrow.

I think chlorine killed my hair...but somehow I manage to smile each time I see it in the mirror.

I talked and hugged my late grandfather this morning. I'm sorry I woke up a few seconds later. :-(

Update : Swimmy swim with the club. Went pretty good. A few things between 12x25 sprint and later 200m tempo r'1min (3x150 r'40)-(5x100 r'40)-(7x50 r'30). Didn't go ski, I'll try to go this week instead.

Trying to take advantage of the last days off. I'd like to go for a hour of ski but with what I had last night, might as well pass on the option. I needed some fresh air, went to ski in the dark. After a few moments the eyes got used to it and it was very cool. But it was the worst 31 minutes of sport I had in a long time! The thing is that it is my friend's ski, since I don't own a pair of skating skis. I don't have the equipment to wax it so the 3 times I went during the Holidays, they weren't waxed. But last night was worst than I could hope for. I was trying to push a little bit and the ski was sliding all over. What was frustrating was that even though is was sliding all over the place laterally, it wasn't gliding at all when moving forward. Oh well, I bagged it after a little while. At least I got a little fresh air before continuing the night.

Update : Went aquajogging and swimming. :) 300cr-200pull-100kick. 15min AJ. 400 cr race pace. 8min AJ. 200m race pace.

I wanted to start 2008 healthy. I won't but at least it'll come fast, 14 days of antibiotics. I went to the clinic this morning and what a nice surprise to see only ONE car in the parking lot. In 1 hour, I went to the doc, then got my prescription at the pharmacy and back home. Believe me, that is something you can't do often here. Yay!

I'll try to take it easy today. A nap would be cool and if the pool is open I'll try to go for an aquajog and a little swim. I was reading Triathlete magazine last night and was interested by one article in particular. They were giving a training plan combining swimming and aquajog. It got me thinking on some aspect of my training. I volontarly am trying to build a good base before starting to increase my speed. Recently, I went to 2 trainings with the club where we ran inside on the track and focused on speed. I'm not sure the shins liked that. What I'm going to do for a few weeks is going to the pool and do all my speed training in the pool. At the same time, I'll continue my running outside for base. We'll see out it goes.

Tonight will be a great party (I hope). Quebec city is celebrating his 400th. A huge party will be thrown in "Place D'Youville", dowtown Quebec, where a big stage was built. Over 100 000 people are supposed to be there, fireworks and lots of action.

I wish everybody a HAPPY NEW YEAR, lots of health, love and happyness!

I'm not too sure about what's going to happen today. Plan with the club consists of 1h30 of crosscountry skiing, 1h30 of ST in the afternoon and a 2h swim after. I think I'll *try* to go swim. Nothing...not feeling good enough.

Right shin is starting to show some signs of weirdoness. I'll try to get that under control.

Update : Went to the Plaines d'Abraham to ski.  Little suprise though when I arrived.  No trails :-(.  I learned that skating wasn't too much fun when no trails AND lots of snow.  It's a lot tougher too.  Did it anyway and I had fun nonetheless.

Dinner was fun last night. We played Guitarhero III. We had a great time except the part I started to have fever.

The game is funny because at first you do so much errors and it wrecks the songs. But then you get the hang of it and it starts to sounds like... well, a song. I think the main reason why the game is cool is because there's so much good songs on the playlist. My friend started it with Prayer for the refugees from Rise Against, what a nice way to not give me a choice on liking the game! ;-) The playlist includes songs from Guns N roses, One from Metallica, Disturbed, Pearl Jam, etc.

The major "but" in this is that I would never buy that game. Why in the hell would I play hours of this game to be good instead of buying a real guitar and take lessons? No thanks.

4 inches of snow today. I think I'll go for a little crosscountry skiing.

Main set :
3 (6x400m) on 1:28 (88% VAM). r'=1:30 r''=5:00
Right adductor and lower abs.
Went pretty well, I kept the cadence up all along and I was pretty much always right on the 1:28 or sometimes a bit faster.
Crashed when in the shower and going home, need some sleep and rest now.

Big set this morning. A few drills at first
6x100 prog.
2x (400cr-400fins-400pull &elastic-400pull&paddles)
2x150IM
The 400 pull and elastic (tying the 2 legs together) was brutal. My legs are sinking big time, can you say drag?

Update : GONE NAPPING :-) Done

I'm off today and the alarm clock was showing 555 when I got up. I hope it's better than 666.

(And for the record, my hair look pretty much like that now)

Please, I hope the afternoon will include a nice little nap. :-) Then, tonight will consist of a dinner with friends and then supposed to play Guitarhero. I'm a little skeptic about that game but we'll see.
