Damn, I saw stars when I got ready to get in the car for a swim this morning. It is awfuly dark in the morning around hear. Swam with street lights to use as points of reference. :)

My shoulder was a little sore in the first 400 due to lack of swimming the last few weeks. I felt ready this morning, but this after noon I started getting light headed. Decided to back down some of the plans for the weekend to ramp up for the race better.

August 24

*CRASH* this sucks, went to bed late, forgot to take my meds and woke up at 2AM to take them. Darn thing went down wrong. Woke up unable to swallow properly and gagging. Felt like I would be sick. Went back to bed after banging in to work. What a whimp I am. Should have sucked it up anyway. As of 1PM, still swallowing with discomfort, but functioning. Only good things so far today are I "finished" my BT sign for Cranberry and my wife is getting a chance to take a nap. If the stars align and I can beat myself silly enough I might get the brick in I was supposed to due this morning. Boy I hate being a wimp.

Oh well, if nothing else I will get more rest for Cranberry, not that I was plannning a tapper or anything. Will swim on Friday. Hope to get one in at the hotel or on the race course on Sat.

well my body was saying rest the last few days. So I did. Got up and moved about the house to get ready for the workout on auto pilot. Got to work to start my run with my headphones on and planned on an easy run.

Well that went to pot. I popped right into an aggressive gate and was cruzing. If 6 was a number for this run I would have givin it up today. Set a new personal record for this distance by 1 min 1 second. Tried to break the 40 min mark with a great kick in the last mile, not to be had. Need some goals I guess.

Set the old record just 3 weeks ago. Boy did I want to race today. Too bad I am planning on a B race this weekend. Need to keep that promise to myself.

No workout today, just too tired. Going to listen to my body :(

August 21

Rest day in name only. Went on a family whale watch. The good news, this time we saw lots of whales. The bad news, the water was quite choppy. No motion sickness, but high levels of anxiety. Nothing like watching your 6 year old daughter on the bow hanging on and haveing a grand ol time, while her feet are leaving the deck! Got us settled inside and I hung on for dear life. I do not like to fly let alone higher octaine ammusement rides. Took about 1.5 hrs for the anxiety to go away and me to be able to roam around at will. Really fun time.

Saddle time was the only thing saving this ride from being a 1. The only thing not to happen was a flat. Got a late start so my wife could get a walk in. Left the house for an extended ride to my parents for a family function.

Almost wrecked in the driveway! Was practicing getting into the shoes on the bike and missed. the shoe was upsidedown and I almost wrecked. From there my route was a lousy choice. Potholes and lots of trafic. I hate mid day rides. Once the roads opened up the bike acted up again.

Went to the LBS on the ride for another adjusment. They showed me my deraler is getting tired and I need new shifters. Close to $400 for parts and labor. Time for a new bike next season, One season too early.

Oh well the family function was fun. Wantted a brick with the run, but was running too far behind. No tapper for this race realy. Still working twards the sprint on 9/10
