April 23
water colder today. 56 Deg., no sun. Took first 250 yards to get warm enough to swim with my face in the water. at about 800 started to hit my stide for form. Struggled to keep my head in the game. Each time I tried to correct form, course, cadence etc, everything else went to pot. Was going to add an extra 400-800, but realized I was having a lot of trouble sighting on my last 400. The storefront I normal site is to the right of a blue house. Could not remeber where the store was anymore. Decided I was gettting too cold to safely stay in the water anymore. Boy did not think 4 degs and no sun could make that much of a difference. The outside temp was about 42.
Glad I did it, but just need to be careful about safety in the water that cold.

April 22
Got up at 5 AM to go ride. Temp outside 33 and frost on the windows of the cars. Big dummy went out with only riding gloves on his hands. By the time I got up to speed my fingers were numb and very pink. Started to loose feeling in them for shifting and breaking. Decided to go home. This gave me a good excuse to get a brick in. Not the ride I wanted, but still a ride with Dulcinea.
Tried to salvagethe workout this morning with a brick. Went for a light run around the neighberhood. Then came the piece de resistance...The town put up a mobile speed trap by a local bridge. Did wind sprints of approximatly 100 yds to see if I could break 11 MPH sprints. I know my sprints are about as fast as the winners at the boston marathons mile times, but still my best :)

April 21
First open water swim of the year. Temp was a warm 60 Degs. Air and water :) Little cold the first 30-40 strokes, but fine after that.

April 20
Ok, did not want to get out of bed this morning. Forced myself onto my feet after only 4.5 hours of sleep. Spent too much time cleaning and organizing last night. While shaving, my legs felt very fresh. Decided to go for speed this morning. Last speed workout before Sudbury in two weeks. New PR today.Old one was set 8-23-05

Planned on an hour. Legs just not into it today. Also bumbed that I have allowed the last week of indiscretions to add back to my waist line. Have to watch my food better.
