The harsh reality of life with out the pull buoy kicked me squarely in the teeth today. After swimming 1500 yards nonstop with the pull buoy last week, I found myself not being able to go more than 50 yards without it today, and needing lots of rest between sets. It seems that I can totally throw out the last 6 weeks or so of swim training where I built up to 1500 yds at one shot with the pull buoy, as I am no better off now than I was 6 weeks ago. I will break out the Total Immersion book again and will work exclusively on the balance and floating drills my next time in the pool. This has got to get easier at some point in time...

Ran at an easy pace as I did not want to test the hamstring too much with any fast running. I did want to do a little bit of distance, however, and ran in my newly purchased compression shorts. I was aware of the hamstring while running, but it didn't really bother me. I won't run again until Sunday's race. This 8 mile run gives me 100 running miles for the month.
