:) Rest day AND TGIF!!! :)
My slacker butt doesn't need a rest day, but date night (woohoo!) on Friday is a rest day. It is the way of the universe. Or at least MY universe. Dinner out this week is sushi. We haven't quite decided where, it's either Miyo or Hama - both in the Hollywood district, but sushi it is. I've been AWFUL on my diet nutritional plan lately so this will be a healthy treat.
We have a run planned on Saturday after my class, then a ride for Sunday. I'm hoping the weather cooperates for the ride. It won't be along this road, but this one is sure pretty.

Dennis!! Back on track! Active rest between sets. :) incline chest press, scissors on the step, chinups, planks, side planks, inchworms, bear crawls, crabs, wall sits.
1 hr. 122 avg HR, 158 max HR
Dennis! Can't wait!! Tonight will be the first hard workout in 2 weeks. Seems longer. I've even got a shiny new bottle of ibuprofen for tomorrow. :)
9pm Ibuprofen? - Pthbt! -won't even need it. I must be getting in better shape. None of it was that hard. We are back to core work and "active rest". Fun!
I think I'm going to do the Sauvie Island 1/2 Mary on the fourth of July. I went and talked smack to the trainer - so I may have committed myself... to kickin' his butt again in a second 1/2M. :) I could be in trouble - he actually wasn't all that far behind me this time, and with knee pain. No actual bets have been placed. Guess I better figure out how I'm going to train for a half mary AND the Tour de Blast. http://www.tourdeblast.com/ We haven't decided on which mileage to do yet.
RIDE PROFILE:
Mile 0: 500 ft. (Toutle)
Mile 11: 1,000 feet
Mile 24: 3,000 feet
Mile 27: 3,800 feet (Elk Rock summit)
Mile 32.5: 3,000 feet
Mile 34.2: 2,530 feet (Coldwater Creek)
Mile 37.2: 3,000 feet
Mile 41: 4,200 feet (Johnston Ridge) Last 4 miles, up to 18% grade!!! EEEeeek!!
Here's the route and the view. No, we don't ride to the top of the actual blast area on actual Mt. St. Helen's. The cycling route is across the valley, along the road to the observation areas. It is IN the very large blast zone to the north of the mountain. If you want to go to the top of the mountain, it is a semi technical climb, permits are required, are scarce and usually sold out quickly to people with way more time than me to go stand in line at the only WA ranger station that sells them. So I hear.

I'm turning into a total slacker! Today is a "rest" day too. I have my sewing club meeting tonight, and won't get home until bedtime.
We get snacks at our meeting. They're pretty variable though. We've got a raw diet person, and some vegans in our group. (And me, the anti-fat-gram geek.)That's all cool, fruit is good - the pineapple last time was great! It's just that when they bring fake tofu cheese and fake freaky tofu "sausage" that I get all weirded out. If you don't eat meat related products, why eat "pretend it's meat" products? And they tasted nasty. I'm not wasting good kcals on anybody's fake processed fatty food substance. Even if it is vegan. Blech! So sue me.

Dennis! Incline bench press, pull-downs, overhead press, body weight squats, leg lift abs, calf stretch. And Thursday is gonna be a killer!
2pm. Went and got more coffee. Need to find a happy place. There was a very happy place this morning - I followed a cyclist into our building who had just locked up his bike across the street. From his most awesome legs, it was clear he cycled a LOT. I didn't hurry. ;)
9am Dennis day!! Today is supposed to be a tough trainer session, but I'm not sure I'm up to it. Not enough sleep last night, and still sore from Sunday. And while we're at it, whiny about the diet nutritional plan, my inability to stick to it, and the continued presence of fat on my a$$ - oh, and I shrank out of my clothes. Again. Whine whine whine. And I know you can't whine about not sticking to a diet at the same time as whining about not losing fat, at the same time as whining that no clothes fit because they are too big - but I'm gonna do it anyway. Maybe I need more coffee. I certainly need more sleep. Which side of the bed did I get up on???

Rest day! And probably a nice hot bath. I'm getting some feedback from my left IT band. Ouch!
We'll still take the dog for a walk. She likes her walks. It may be a short one though.
OK. I lied. We didn't take the dog for a walk. Poor girl.
