Swim lesson today. Practice. Drills. Listening. I guessed on distance.

I got another couple of drills to practice. And I am improving a little. And asking startlingly basic questions which no doubt surprise him. "Are my hips supposed to be rotating? Because they are..." Seriously, I asked him this. Apparently they are and that they do it now is good. Who knew? For sure not me. :) Things that start "happening" by themselves in my lift sessions are mostly bad as it is my body doing it the 'easy' way and "cheating". So for me if it is easy and I'm automatically doing it, I suspect that it's wrong. LOL! Oh, another one - I'm to think of kicking with my thighs not my feet. OH!!! Well, alrighty then. After he said that all of a sudden the whole thing was easier. Every session is an epiphany. :)

max 31.9. Cross-tail-wind out to Troutdale. I managed to hold 24-25 most of the way, except for a couple 22s when I was tired. No resting this time at the turn, just turn and go. Coming back was a bear. Now it was a cross-head-wind. I could only keep 17-18 on the way back with 19 and 20 when I found a couple rabbits to chase. My time on changing flats is getting better. Last time it was 20 minutes, this time 12. Yay!

Again we raced at the bridge. More oomph this time. I had to give hubby carp since I'd pulled for 15 miles he still barely beat me. Heh. :)

Sortof bricked up the bike/run. I say sortof because I changed my shorts, and had to put the bike away in the garage since we have company right now. The run started out fine (8:30 pace) but sortof slowed down until I had to battle to get anything under 9:00 pace at the "sprint" at the end. I'm really going to have to do some work to be ready for Aug 30th's OLY. The Luna Sprint should be fine.

I am starting to get better at this. Can't quite do continuous laps, but its getting close. And now I'm down to 1:15-1:40 per 50m instead of 2:30 like I started out. Progress!

Well, no OWS today. It is 61 right now, and did i mention I'm a weenie? We need to go get a new washer as ours decided to go to the big laundry room in the sky. Great. The little dog was several benjamins, then the other dog was a couple and has a follow-up on Monday, and now we need to spend some more benjamins on a washer. We'll probably get a dryer too as the dryer we have is starting to act up. Did I mention that the brake rotors need fixing on the car? We're NEVER going to have a vacation. Can't these things space themselves out???

Bike/run brick coming up, and possibly a short pool session depending on how it all works out.

No run. The folks and brother/gf got back from the Highland Games and wanted dinner. Tomorrow is a ride/run for sure. In between going to my swim lesson, out to breakfast, and to Home Depot to get another utility sink as ours broke and the stack now requires a plumber. More benjamins no doubt.

 

July 18

Spent today running around with mom to bookstores. I got a Bread book and a Fine Woodworking magazine. The clerk said, "That's an interesting combination." I said, "I'm an interesting combination."

Tomorrow is an OWS with Nightowl. Hope it's kinda warm. I'm a weenie. :)

At some point will be a very important 5k.

Trainer session! New pinch hitter today. My regular guy is on vacation. It's kinda fun shaking it up with a new person. Plus she was full of, "You look great" "You're awesome for keeping off the pounds" "Wow, you're strong..." I could totally listen to that all day!

Thursday night ride! Love it. Tough ride tonight. Seemed like a struggle a lot. We sure hit every light though. Someone had bad karma.

Long day at work solving the world's problems. Or, more accurately, sending out the problems to the appropriate person. We implemented an upgrade to a billing program yesterday and today was the fallout. Not as bad as it could have been, but a learning experience nonetheless. My sewing guild meeting was this evening - usually I get a quick run beforehand, but not tonight. A run, a shower, fixing dinner, and gathering my meeting things cannot all be done in 60 minutes or less, and frankly I was done with frantic hurrying for the day. so no run.
