Hopped on the trainer during the first half hour of Heroes. Kinda loud when you're not on the concrete floor of the basement! It has that wood sub-floor on which to vibrate...
Lesson learned tonight: A fan is an absolute must on the trainer. Plain and simple.

Those are my splits for the 5-K today. Not too shabby if I do say so myself! Definitely a breath of fresh air after the stinky performance at the marathon.. sheesh! This lady started talking to me after mile 1 and in the midst of our conversation our pace slowed a little bit. After the 2nd mile marker we vowed to pick up the pace and 4 min. into it she was suckin wind hardcore as I was about to take it up another notch! She motioned me ahead and I hammered it home. My very first official 5-K.

Pretty good run today! My left arch muscles were hurting early on, then it changed to my right achilles tendon. Guess that's what happens when you run 8 miles in 3 weeks! I wish these arches would quit hurting... Anyway, we ran on Mopac East which- *gasp* has mile markers! They kinda sneak up on you; they're just railroad ties about 2ft high stuck into the ground with a little placard on them. But they had 'em! So we ran a mile, I split it, then we went 4:59 [was supposed to be 4:50 based on our first lap time, but I missed it] and turned around. Not sure on how far we went so I just assumed it was a half-mile. Shortly after turning around Brynn was having a gut-check so we stopped and walked a little bit before HAMMERING it home in 9:06! Felt purty good, especially with the extremely low volume as of late.

Slept on my right shoulder last night and woke up with some serious pain-age. Didn't feel good at all. Did my best to stretch it out REALLY well during my warm-up. Stretched, did a lap, stretched, did a lap... 4 laps total stretching/swimming. Then went into my set. I wanted to do 3x500 but my left big toe cramped up big time during my last lap-and-a-half so I had to quit it 3 laps early. Didn't do much for my arch either, all things considered. Okay one of the cats just pooped and it STINKS, and I'm probably 20-feet and two rooms away from it! Blech.
