May 1
Little, ez run before tri goup run. It is hot (almost 90) and humid. Breezy, though. South on path to HCP and back with loop by gas station.
Final run with tri group. So sad to end the training program, but so excited for their race.
May 1 and it is summertime hot! I love cool weather running, but have to admit I loved the heat and sweat today. Didn't run hard or far, so that probably made a difference.
Lots of work and not enough time (as usual), so I adjusted my training for the week to start taper earlier than I had planned. I was going to just go with a 1-week taper plan. Figured that might work better for the stacked race season. I may get some more time on the bike, but I've planned for less to reduce the overall stress load.
April 30
Party in the pool today. All the toys were put to use:
300 swim, 200 with fins (50 rotate kick, 25L/25R, 100 catch up), 100 kickboard (fins)
1200 broken by 400s with 10sr: #1 z1, #2 z2, #3 z3
3x100 with bands
300 paddles and bull buoy
100 scull drills

Tri 101 group
South on the Trace. Pretty windy for first half. Only 15.5 mph first hour. Definitely picked up speed and was averaging 18+ on the way back, but still slower than I wanted overall. Pffft.
Hard run off the bike. I need to slow down.
April 27
Supposed to be a speed workout, but still feeling kinda' punky, altho not as clunky as Tue. So, just an easy run 'round the 'hood.
300 swim, 200 pull, 100 kick, 100 drill
6x50 descend 1-3
100 ez
6x200 on 10sr
200 ez
Argh. I had to cut my workout slightly short 'cause I was too cold to keep going. I like swimming at the "other" pool sometimes. They set up long course for about 6 weeks on Fridays, and it's really nice. But, even though when I get in the water seems cool but fine, I get progressively colder and my legs and feet go crazy cramping after awhile. Most of my workout this afternoon was with the pool buoy.
I will keep swimming there, but I am going to have to do shorter workouts so I can get in and out before I freeze.
