Back from the brink.

Great ride with Mark G and David.
I forgot how hard riding off road is...some of those little hills almost killed me...but it was great.
The bike sadly didn't work. Chain kept falling off and gears kept slipping and the chain kept going into the spokes!
Yes, My favourite bike shop put on a new chain without using the right amount of links...so in the lowest gears, the chain would just hang there...It is back in the shop.
Still a great ride.
Okay, I officially hurt in a place I've never hurt before.
It feels like my femur joints with my hips...where the my leg bones meet the next part of my body. I'm sure it has a name. But right now, it's name is pain.
Curse that Brendan! It never fails. He always find a new place to make sore!
I'm going to try some cyclocross today. I'm looking forward to it.

Killer set with Brendan...I think it was the power lifting that did me in...thought I would visit my Uncle Ralph a couple of times. Just couldn't get enough oxygen in.
Poor balance on some of the squat type things, but really good form and balance on the box steps and bosu...who knew!

Feeling a little blah today.
Chiro had trouble making cracking sounds - that's how toight I am. He also noticed some signs of aging on my x-ray...I knew I should have used newer film!
I think I need to get back on the training bandwagon.
I remember on this day, a number of years ago being on an airplane and landing in a ghost-town like airport and then hearing the news as we were rushed out of the terminal.
I remember hearing that my young child watched the explosions live on TV and asked his mother if I was on a plane.
I remember being stuck in that city for 4 days until air travel resumed.
I remember all those that lost their lives, just by sitting there, and those braver ones - by trying to save others.
I remember that, sadly, nothing has really changed since that day.

Ok. It is official. Bloodwork confirms that I am not deficient. I am indeed an Ironman!
I'm really milking this R and R thing...I'm trying to live in the moment, maybe watch some Oprah, although I'd prefer soy milk.
Got my X-rays in hand...now I go back to the Chiro, but only after seeing the other doc about my Iron issues...Maybe I should take my finisher's medal with me..."how can I be Iron deficient, I'm an Ironman!?"

Went to see Chiro for my neck and foot today.
Foot is getting better. Neck needs work. Years of stiffness and neglect that I am finally breaking down to try to fix.

Rave Run with John at White Butte trails.
I can honestly say that that was the best run of my life. I felt good and fast and comfortable and capable.
But it wasn't that. It was the surroundings, the temperature the smells, the sun in my face, the shade, the sand, the trembling aspens....Just beautiful.
I'm doing that again.
Wow.
HRM wasn't working, needs a new battery.
