Trying to get back into the normal routines.  I have to go to work today.  Damn that sucks.  Silly kids show up on Monday for the new school year.  I'm more or less ready for the year as I have the first week copied off and ready to go for Earth Science and I'm almost ready for the first two weeks of Anatomy.

Still sore in forearms and back from white water rafting.

Slept in and relaxed. Went by the school today to pick up my room key and start to get my room setup for Monday. I so Don't want to go back to work.

Tried going to the gym today. My body kinda of just laughed at me. After 10 minutes on the elliptical I was almost drenched in sweat and tired. Lifted weights and switching focus from functional strength to strength building as my focus. Swimming was hilarious. Did a 100 warmup where I was gasping for air. Stretched out my arms a bit. Wanted to do a 1k but stopped after 300 tired and gasping for air. It wasn't going to happen in terms of any worthwhile distance. Did another 100 cooldown focusing on form and breathing and jumped out of the pool a defeated man.

drove home.  Walked around Sonoma as well as did some shopping at the Petaluma Factory outlet stores.  Bought 3 polos form Gap for $10 each and 4 shirts form Gap and Banana Republic for $8 each.  Always nice to get some new work shirts for $10

August 5

Went wine tasting on Dry Creek Road along the bike route and further up the road.  Went to Spragia, Ferrari-Carrano, Preston, Quivera, and some other place that I forget the name of now.

Legs felt ok but my back between the shoulder blades and triceps were rather sore.

will post RR when I get home on Monday night. Won a bottle a Pinot from La Crema. Very Happy with swim and bike time. Will need to find find shorts that fit comfortably under wetsuit so I don't waste 4-5 minutes running to the changing tent. Why can't you be anyhow? Sure someone would have appreciated the show.   Glad to see the training paid off.  Time to kick some butt next year if I can ever run again.

Thanks Gina for the inspire.

Thanks to everyone else on here who has helped me in the past and who will help me learn more in the future.

Thank you coach Dan and Pam for teaching me how to swim during this last month.

And most importantly thank you Karen be being such a supportive friend and great pit crew of one.

It is amazing what you can accomplish in a year when you put your mind to it.
