While I slept well, I felt tired and struggled to keep my HR down.

Got my results for my iron levels today, still low. Will try a different tablet regime and check in again in two weeks. This might be why I'm feeling so tired or perhaps its the lack of quality sleep. I am sleeping well, but just not getting enough. This will be true for tonight/tomorrow too. I have a VERY early start in the morning. I have to be at the airport at 4.00am to check in my bulky item. That would be my bike, that was very nicely packed up by the LBS guys today. Bonus! I am almost ready to go. So thank you all who have wished me well. I look forward to writing the race report, right after I spend a week in the Queensland sunshine!

I sincerely doubt that I will get a swim in tonight. It wasn't happening this morning, I got suckered into watching a documentary/film on SBS (that contained no nudity or adult themes, thank you very much) called Czech Dream (see http://www.czech-dream.com ) interesting stuff. I couldn't not see the end!! I hope to pack tonight house & for trip! Must pick up bike bag and learn to take bike apart first...

Took it very easy tonight. My bike arrived late from its service so the session was cut a little short.

Blood taking episode a disaster last night. Pretty much passed out. But at least its done and I might be able to get the results before I go. Not that I'll be able to do anything about it... Tonight's training is windtrainer followed by a half hour run. Looks nice outside, so I'm kinda keen to get out there. Just have to hope that my bike has been serviced in time! ____ So, my chain and back wheel were replaced and on my short ride home from windtrainer the bike is running remarkably smoothly. I am exceptionally happy that I took it in for a service. All I need to do now is add some cages to the bracket behind my seat and replace my front tyre. And some how pull it all apart to pack.

Swim
  • 30m 58s
  • 1500.00 meters
  • 02m 04s /100 meters

1500 straight swim.

I didn't feel so good at the 15 min mark. My swim cap felt tight, my goggles felt too tight I thought I was going to be ill. Hung out at one end of the pool for about 30 sec until it passed and kept at it. Slightly disappointing time.

I was meant to swim this afternoon, but I am determined to get my blood tested to check on my beloved iron levels. I'm thinking low still. I reread last seasons race reports yesterday. Very self indulgent! I obviously felt as though I was severely underdone in the preparation of many of my races. I am confident that this time around I have maintained some sort of consistency which is kind of exciting. I actually feel ready to race (I never thought I'd say that - today I'm excited, which is better than the sh*t scared I felt all last week). Of course I could have done more training, but nothing's going to help me now. So this week the focus is on eating well - lots of fresh veggies & fruit, good carbs and water. Lots of water. Water is my bestest friend. Sleep. Good, deep revitalising sleep and trying to keep my nervous energy in check so that I can channel it on Sunday. Thoughts are moving past Sunday and what I will do after the HIM. I'm really unsure. I guess it depends on how much I like the distance. I swore off Oly distances after Geelong, but it might be worth giving it another crack. I was out to dinner last night with friends who did parts of the Gatorade series last year and they're pretty keen to have another bash. I did swear I would not give up my Easter to race a triathlon and this year it's not being asked of me, so many reasons are seeing me head towards the domestic competition and finish better than 3rd last in my AG!!
