Run Casie, Run!

October 27

Bike
  • 55m
  • 21.00 kms
  • 22.91 KM/hr

*Distance is a guess*
Commute the quick way along St Kilda Rd. So much better than sitting in the car. I've worked out my training routine a little better and I should be able to commute 3 days a week (M.W.F) weather dependent.

Slow ride home into a headwind. No fair, I had it on the way in too. At least the rain stopped!

October 26

Run
  • 44m 12s
  • 7.32 kms
  • 06m 02s /KM

Wow, for me this is fast! I did a lap of the tan and threw in 4 hill repeats on Anderson Street. Probably a good thing my HRM still doesn't work!

October 25

Swim
  • 1h 10m
  • 2200.00 meters
  • 03m 10s /100 meters

600 wu
300 free/back stroke
200 kick
200 breast stroke kick
400 easy
200 breath 3/5
300 cd

I seem to be having major goggle issues. They must have a shelf life. They still appear to be in good condition, but the last few times they've been leaking chronically.

Woo hoo. A volume graph that's looking a little more balanced. Swimming tonight, I'll go early and swim for a km or so and then jump in for some more coaching.

October 24

Run
  • 49m 27s
  • 7.60 kms
  • 06m 30s /KM

The internal alarm is on its way to being reset! I was up late (midnight!!!) watching more Prison Break and still managed to wake before my late 6.00am alarm.

So getting out for a run was relatively easy. The battery in my HR strap has gone so I got to just run.

Sport
  • Stationary Biking
  • 1h 00m

Had a remarkably average day at work so it was good to push myself and get some built up aggression out.

October 23

Bike
  • 1h 10m
  • 25.00 kms
  • 21.43 KM/hr

Distance is a guess - still no replacement for my odometer. Took the long way into work on the bike path. Pretty good ride, I really pushed myself trying to keep up with a mtb rider.

Swim
  • 50m
  • 1200.00 meters
  • 04m 10s /100 meters

I swam at MSAC and somehow managed to land in the free public coaching session. I probably swam less than I would have usually, but I also did things that I wouldn't usually do - work on form, speed & tumble turns. Helped that the instructor was pretty cute too. I will probably go back, but swim for half an hour beforehand just to get the distance in.

500 wu
200 lengthen stroke
100 catch up
200 sprint drills
200 breast/back stroke
Tumble turn drills

Oh I feel pretty lazy after a weekend of nothing. Hopefully I can keep it together this week. There'll be no coached sessions as of Wednesday because all coaching staff will be in Noosa! I would like to get a swim in tonight in addition to the riding.

October 22

I think the fact that I was in bed last night by 10.30pm certainly helped in recovery. I did think about going for a run, but I couldn't convince myself that running was better than watching the first couple of episodes of Prison Break Season 2. Wentworth Miller takes me to special places. So much so, the earth moved for me. And lots of other people too. I experienced my first tremor/ mini quake. Initially I thought someone had crashed into our building until I realised there was no crumpled metal sound.
