Enjoying life one day at a time

Doing my shoulder exercises... takes a LOT longer now. My PT has added a whole page of exercises to do. To keep things even I need to do the exercises on both shoulders. Oh well, what ever works to make me stronger. :)
Had a lousy sleep last night... not sure what was up. I think I'm having sympathy sweats for my Sweetums. Woke up a couple times, scorching hot... wtf. After I woke at 4 a.m. I really didn't sleep much... lay in bed thinking way to many things... eventually dosed until the alarm went off. I'm taking today as another EZ day, so didn't want to work out this morning. Sleep was on order, but wasn't happening.
Off to work, maybe I'll get some good zzzz's while there. LOL ;)

I'm starting my swimming again... today was a warm up for next weeks start to the HIM plan. I reduced the plans first day, by 1/2 and did the entire workout.
80m swim
80m kick
160m pull
160m swim
1000m swim at RPE3 (was to be 1500 at RPE4)
4x40m - each 40m a little slower
Was a good swim... may have lost count thru the 1000m, but was pretty close.
Traction on the neck... then all kinds of new exercises to do. PT figures next week will be it. I just have to keep up the exercises on my own.
Ok... swimming went well... was more of an active recovery day since I was still a little tired from the run yesterday.
Next week start HIM training plan. I'm ready. :)

The sky was blue, the sun was shining, I thought it would be a great day to go for a long run. Sweetums said it was -3... so decided it didn't warrant anything more then a baseball cap. BOY, was I wrong... she neglected to tell me it was a 20+km/h N wind... felt like frost bite on my ear at one point. Was VERY cold. The run back towards town was HORRIBLE... directly into the wind up the biggest hills we have. That 2km stretch took me 15 min... and I didn't walk once. It was just tough slogging.
I didn't stop though... well ok... stopped twice to cross busy streets, but other then that it was jogging steadily the whole time... throughout the entire 15km... and 120m of vertical gain (390' for the metricaly challenged ;) ). Most of that gain was in the last 3km... ouch!!

Quick easy spin on the trainer. Did some low cadence high gear power work... some standing sets... but basically 85rpm work. HR Z2-Z3

A quick run around the neighbourhood. Did some sprints in the first 5k... then settled in for a hard steady 5k to see if I could get a negative split. Didn't quite make it... think it was 27:35 and 27:45.
Busy, busy day at work... even though production was shut down.... it's not good when they shut production down in order to let back log build up to keep factory busy. I hope it gets better soon. :(
Nice run tonight after pizza and movie with the boys. Got dressed, went outside and had to take off balaclava immediately... think the temperature was above freezing. Really nice evening... sky was still kind of light when I started... and moon was bright and beautiful when I finished. GREAT evening for a run... glad I went. :)

Rest day called off... found some free time and went for a swimmy swim. Felt good to get in the water. :) Did 500m front crawl... 5x100m @ 2:30. Not bad for being off for so long. Did 600m warm up... kicking, breast stroke, free. Very loosely done workout. Trying to get the hang of this water thing again... and NOT strain the shoulders. All's well that doesn't drown.
It's official... I'm calling this a rest day. I'm not on a plan yet, so this is ok. Rest is good for letting the body recover. :)
Found some free time so did a swimmy. Nothing strenuous.
Train smart all you guys and gals.
