I forgot my watch, but used the lap clock to time this. 1000m TT.
120m w/u
120m c/d
I gave it my all... and my arms and lats are feeling it too. Maybe I could have given more, but I'm happy with this... for now. :)

Theraband workout after the swim. Must remember to do my PT exercises at home too.
Almost finished the framing. I have one more door to rough in and then I'm done. I should be able to start wiring soon... not tomorrow though... most stores will be closed and I won't be able to buy the supplies I need. I'll do what I can though.
Another gloomy, rainy , cold day in the neighbourhood. After Sweetums wakes up, I'll be working in the basement... until then, rest. ;)
Since just about everything will be closed tomorrow, due to Victoria Day holiday, I will have to forego the swim tomorrow. Maybe, I'll do the run I missed today tomorrow, and the swim on Tuesday. PLUS do the Brick workout with The Dogs in the evening. Make it a three-fer day. ;)

I sleep horribly when Sweetums is working nights... last night was the worst... awake at 2 a.m. and unable to get back to sleep for 2 hours.... I don't like that. Oh well, I'll survive. :S
Not sure what I'll be able to do training wise today. I have to do many chores... maybe I'll try for a run later this afternoon... see what my knee feels like. :(
by-the-by.... that's a new all time low weight.... I didn't think it was going to be possible, but I'm at my goal. Does this mean I can eat what I want, when I want? ;) LOL

Nice cool ride this morning. +4*C...NNE light breeze... mostly cloudy. Took it easy today... probably a Z2 ride. Hills worked a bit, but mostly kept it pretty relaxed. Yes... that's a relaxed speed for me. :)
Little windy... but a strong effort on my part to get home in this time. Did some hill repeats... sort of... on all the hills I pushed into Z4. Need to do that more often to build some leg strength. Felt good though. :)
For future reference... my commutes have been done with a knapsack on my back. This REALLY doesn't help my aerodynamics. However, tonight was doubly bad. Not only bringing home all the clothes I had taken in the a.m., but one of my coworkers gave me TWO bottles of Ketchup (hubby works for Heinz) that had defective labelling. This added about 5 lbs to my load. It also felt like a HUGE sail on my back... good strength training though. :o lol
Last work day of the week... at least that I get paid for. Long weekend in Canada... unfortunately Sweetums is working nights all weekend, so I'll have to be really quiet during the day and won't be able to do much work in the basement. I'll prepare everything in the garage and take it to the basement when she's awake.

A little better commute this morning... only +4 but at least there was sunshine. Was late leaving so pushed hard today... big ring but trying to maintain 90rpm... was a helping wind too. It's always fun climbing grades (wouldn't call it a hill) at 40 km/h. ;)
I think I was approaching hypothermic conditions last night. It took me about 2 hours to warm up after my ride home last night. My hands wouldn't stop shaking and they were kind of pale. Not a good sign... fortunately I was home.
Yes... it IS supposed to be a rest week for me... unfortunately the gas prices are forcing me to commute to work. I glanced at the price at our local station... gas is $1.29/litre... diesel $1.39/litre... I think I'll be cycling to work every day until the snow flies. :(
No commute tonight... I went to get on bike after work and had a flat. I called Sweetums to see what she was doing for supper and found out she was in town dropping off #3 son at a b'day party, so I asked her to pick me up on her way home. I could have changed the tube, but my spare was a patched tube as well.... didn't want to chance it. I'll change it now and put a good tube in. :)

Oh lookie there... a tailwind for 1/3 of the ride home really helps on the uphills. Again tonight I kept it in the little ring and spun easier. Even though it was raining and only 12*C... I'm tryin' to be smart with my riding. Can't go full tilt every day.
Yes... another commute. Another sunny morning... but this time it was a south breeze, so I had to fight thru the wind for about 1/3 of the ride. Wasn't onerous though. I took it REAL easy this morning. Small ring only and not pushing hard on the uphills. I'd call it a Z2 ride. I took a different route... not sure of the elevation profile for this route... all I know is there are far more hills. :)
Oh LOOK... the current conditions for the area I live in. This is radar of the rain... if I'm lucky it'll all pass by the time I have to go home... but the WIND will be here. Predicting 30 km/h winds with gusts of 60 km/h... OH BOY... I'm looking forward to it.

BOY.. did that ride home S.U.C.K. ... wind was a crosswind for most of the ride. Rain was heavy at times.... and the roads were very wet. It was cold and miserable and now I'm paying the price. Bundled up in two coats and hoping my fingers will thaw out soon. I just hope none of my tri's this year are like this... that could be disheartening.

Beautiful morning ride... light breeze, sunshine, +5*C. Took it reasonably easy this morning... stayed seated on all hills, tried maintaining 90 cadence throughout. Was in big ring for about 1/2 the ride, but wasn't pushing the biggest gears, just spinning easily.
Evening commute is always so much harder. Not only is it more climbing coming home, it is also usually into the wind. Today wasn't bad wind wise, but it's still a presence to deal with. I think I worked harder than I did this morning, but it took me longer. Just not fair. ;) LOL
More basement work after getting supper for the boys. Two more small walls to build... a few doors to frame up... then it's wiring time. :)

Z1-2 run... just getting some miles in to see how the knees feel. Right knee is tolerable, left knee gets sore after 10 min. Walking eases the pain immediately. So I did the run/walk routine, run until I feel pain, walk 1 min, run... repeat. Forgot a watch to time myself... HRM is dead, so I ran naked. Never felt even close to taxing my system. Could have sang while I ran, except that would have looked weird. :o
Wind 30 km/h (gusting to 60 km/h), temp. +5*C, spattering of rain and cloudy. What a lovely day for the first Duathlon of the season. I wish all the racers well on this miserable day. I'm sure glad I wasn't one of them. The first half of the ride would have been directly into the wind. Of course the second half would have been down wind, but it's also the hilliest part of the course. What a fun day. :)
btw... I think I have a tape worm... the weight continues to slide off. What's going on?!?! :) If this keeps up I'm going to have to race as an Age Grouper and no longer as a Clydes... will wonders never cease. ;)
