Morning commute finally... was starting to go into withdrawal. Was an easy feeling ride, a little chilly, but I felt stronger than I have in the past this year (still not as strong as last year though).

Nothing special done, just rode steady and used whatever gear felt comfy. :)

Evening commute... into the wind, with a large pack on my back, full of cold weather clothes from the morning.

Made pretty decent time, considering. Had a shadow for the entire ride... I even took it easy for him to catch me... but he never did. Every hill I would be pulling way ahead, it didn't matter how slow I went on the flats. No worries, was kinda fun having some one try to catch me. :o

Now I see why it took so long to get my next commute in... it was the 13th commute of the year... quite fitting to do it on Friday the 13th though. Laughing 

Notice that speed  for the morning?? Well it's going to be significantly lower going home, for a number of reasons:

  1. It's mostly uphill going home (downhill coming in)
  2. It's going to be into the wind (was calm this morning, but what wind there was, was at my back)
  3. I had to wear so much gear going in, to stay warm, that my knapsack is going to be a sail going home.

Oh well... it's a beautiful day! Who cares, I'm riding my bike!!!!

 Start work at the crack of insanity... leave early for Dr's appt. Won't be doing any training tonight either. Not pleasant after wart treatments. :(

April 11

10 hours work... pick up The Beast at the LBS... go home warm supper... eat quickly... drive back to city to pick up my phone (replacement, not same phone... old one died)... drive back west to p/u #2 at work... head home... clean up kitchen... rest a bit, then off to bed.

No riding tomorrow either... have Dr's appointment in the afternoon. Not a good week. :(

April 10


The fitting went well... but they wanted to keep the bike to do some work.... so I had to drive in this morning. Recieved a call late in the day to say they need to keep it for another day (they wanted to keep it until the end of the week). I wasn't planning on driving today any way... the forecast was for rain and snow today. Never really materialized... but I haven't looked outside since I got home though.

Spending time with Sweetums tonight though, as she will beginning working evening shifts, (then night shifts on the weekend) tomorrow. She's worked an insane amount in the last week and half... she needs a break, but it's not happening any time soon. :(

April 9

I doubt I'll get any riding in today... today we take #1 back to school, #2 to work, and I have my free fitting scheduled for this evening... it's another day of driving.

While #1 goes to his class, we are going to be packing up some of his stuff, and bringing it home. At the end of the month, when his course is finished for the year, he is quitting. Game Programming is not what he was expecting, or hoping for. He's taking a year off and hopefully getting into a math program, with the goal of becoming a teacher. At least that's the goal now. We'll see how this goes.

#2 went out dancing with a group of his friends last night... I was the designated taxi dad. Picked them up at 12:45 and drove them home. A couple to their house, and a couple picked up at our place. Now he's sleeping in and we will be taking him to his job at around 10... then leaving for T.O.

Sunday morning ride, into the wind for an hour fifteen, then when the weather looked threatening to rain, turned around and let the wind do some work. Still working on stamina, so speed is not an issue... although was fun to be riding just under 40 km/h and not really working at all. ;)

April 7

Busy day...

  • take #2 to driver's ed
  • take #1 clothes shopping (he has a wedding to go to at the end of the month, needs nice clothes)
  • grocery shopping (Sweetums is working this weekend to help the lab get caught up as the saga continues at their hospital)
  • p/u #2 at driver's ed
  • take #3 to his first day at work (dishwasher at golf course that #1 works for as well)
  • make supper (homemade burgers, double smoked bacon, applewood smoked cheddar... drooling thinking about them)

That's just about it... and doing anything else will happen only if I feel I have the time... and it's not looking good. :(
