Well, that's it for the workouts before Sunday except for a easy bike and swim on Saturday.  Run was a little hilly, so I ran the downhills and flats and walked the uphills.  That's my strategy for Sunday.

So we get down to the Muskingum river last night to board the boat, and what's the first thing I think?  I hope the Ohio River is as calm as this for the swim.  Very low current.  Good swimming. Obsessed? Me? ;)  We had a good time last night. I ate too much. Again.  There is a trend starting here that I don't much like.  I've got to get the eating under control.

Busy day here.  Short swim and run planned along with mowing, car and bike cleaning, and  packing for my trip to Buck Creek.  We're leaving tomorrow afternoon. :)

Great ride this morning.  Another perfect day weather-wise.  Hope it holds for the weekend!  Whenever I found myself pushing today, I backed off.  Goal was to have a good time and keep the legs loose.  Couldn't stop smiling.  I like it when that happens. :)

Silly cats started waking me up at 10:30 last night and finally won and got me out of bed at 4:30.  Not my best night of rest.  Now they're both happy and sleeping and I'm awake. Brats.

I've got a bike ride planned for this morning and this evening we're surprising my mom with a riverboat dinner cruise for her birthday.  Hope it is as much fun as I think it will be. :)

I HEART massages! :)  Everytime she works on an area, I think, OMG, this is my favorite part, then she moves to another part and I think the same thing. :)  I didn't think that when she was working out some knots in my shoulders/neck though.  Yeowch!  She told me to take it easy this afternoon and drink lots of water. I can do that. :)

Was a little grumpy when I woke up, but a great run solved that little problem! :)  Except for the first 1/4 mile while my legs were waking up, I felt really good out there.  I was enjoying my music, which helps me relax more, and it was just a perfect weather morning.  61 degrees, sunshine, lots of birds looking for food.  My kind of morning! :)

Run today followed by massage. :)

Recorder didn't record Olympics last night.  Missed the Men's triathlon. :(  Good news is I can watch the replay online, bad news is that doesn't help with my winter training viewing needs.

1000 Continuous 26:54 - 2:41 pace! :)

Excellent swim this morning!  Watched a video on YouTube that really seemed to help me with the glide/balance/breathing.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LqqNO3WYZ0  I felt good balance wise - I could feel the stretch clear down my side and I'm happy with my pace for the 1000.  :)

Heard Michael Phelps talking about how his goggles filled up with water in one of his races (the butterfly?) and he could only guess where he was in the last lap by counting strokes .  Gosh, how many times have my goggles started filling up and I've stopped to fiddle with them.  What kind of focus must it take to win a gold medal when you can't even see where you're going?  Unbelievable!

I have an incredibly fun month coming up and I really just want to take it all in and enjoy it.  My first Olympic distance race this week, IMKY next week with yoganerd, first century ride the following week, then two weeks and the 1/2 marathon.

Swimming today.  Going to keep the training light all week for taper.  Schedule actually has a little more on it than I'm comfortable with, so I may drop or back off on some of the sessions.  I want my legs to feel that "twitch" going into Sunday. :)

Need to stretch more.......

Yoga-stretching - fairly unstructured

After dinner hike at scout camp

All in all, a good run this morning.  First half felt really good right from the beginning.  Halfway point, I stopped to pee and refill water/Infinit bottles. Had a tough time getting going again and keeping a rhythm going.   Tried singing, envisioning the ironman final stretch, but my mind kept wandering off the "happy thoughts".  I was never miserable and never stopped running - just wasn't as fun the second half as it was the first.  Had nearly two bottles of water and two bottles of Infinit.  Stayed well hydrated.  Had to pee for nearly the entire run. ;)  Will relax around the house this afternoon (and eat), then head out to scout camp for dinner and to spend the night. :)

I'm feeling like a bottomless pit these days..... Last night, I had roast beef, mashed potatoes, dressing & gravy for dinner.  Came home and ate a slice of pizza.  This morning, I had my usual 1/2 english muffin w/peanut butter & a banana.  About an hour later I had 1/4 c multigrain hot cereal, then an hour later, more cereal and another banana.  I drank two bottles of Infinit on the run.  I feel like I'm always eating or always hungry. Need to get something figured out on this....

Long run on tap this morning.  I stayed up too late last night, so I'm slow getting moving.  It's 50 degrees out there this morning.  Might wait for the sun to heat things up a little more before I head out.

It seems to be baby morning here in the yard.  The turkeys brought their babies up.  10 in all!  Looks like two different families.  One set of five babies pretty small and another set of five much larger.  The adults chase the babies around - I think to keep them herded in the group.  Too funny! Three fawns also this morning..  So cute!  I also have a deer that whenever I see him, I open the window and throw out an apple.  He's grown so big and has eight points now.  It's a little intimidating to see someone so big coming up to the house for an apple!

Talked my mom into going to the Y with me this afternoon.  She walked on the treadmill while I swam then we met up in the strength room and did some ab work.  I couldn't show her how to do crunches without stressing her neck, so we got the girl in charge to show us some better ways to do them.  Fun afternoon, but I've got to say that doing crunches on a incline with a 20 lb medicine ball was NOT my idea of fun. (she was showing off at that point ;) )  It was a good afternoon.  Wish my mom would join the Y.  It was fun having her there.  We finished off the day with shopping and dinner.

Ah Friday! :)  Fred is heading to scout camp for the weekend, so I'm on my own. Don't know what I'm going to get into.  :)  Swimming, strength, and yoga today. With the exception of my long run tomorrow, I've got an easy training schedule until my race next week. It feels strange not doing two-a-days. :)  Can't believe I'm in the final stretch for my last tri of the season.  It's been such a fun summer, I want it to keep going.
