Good starting point. Stuck my hand in the waistband of my shorts. It was the most comfortable posistion I could find.

Welcome to Monday!  Excited to start a new week.  Ready to get my ass in gear and make some great stuff happen for myself.  Going to start building some endurance this week.  I'll focus on starting with at least 30 minutes a day and start doing a bit longer weekend workouts.  I think once I'm back in a "workout mindframe", the nutrition will follow.  When I workout, I want to eat better. When I don't, I'm more likely to eat crap.  Its really that simple.

Shoulder continues to improve noticeably on a daily basis.  Tried to sleep in bed last night and still couldn't take the pressure.  Feel like I'm really close though.

Good workout today.  Had to give up one of my naps to get it in, but it was worth the effort. lol!

Okay, time to get focused again.  Going to get back into things slowly but steadily this week.

Goals:
Read my goals above every morning
Bike or walk at least 15 minutes every day
Get my office deadline stuff done this week
I need to put a nutritional focus item here - wonder why my mind is resisting this so much?

Had a really good day.  Got some office stuff done and even a little cleaning.  Was able to run the vaccuum without problem and was able to fold some laundry. (I'll keep this ability quiet for now) lol.  Tried to move some snow, but quickly decided to wait and let Fred do it.  Just not one of those things you can do one-handed.  The thing that hurt most today was using the mouse with the right hand.  Hope this improves soon, because it will definitely make my computer work easier.  Very productive day for me -  even managed a couple of good naps.  The things missing from my day were focus on nutrition and workouts.  Pretty much ate all day long and never did manage to make it down to the treadmill.

Doc visit went well. Shoulder is healing well and heading in the right direction.  I need to use common sense and not doing anything stupid.  Pretty much my call on when to use the drugs and sling with a few exceptions.  I'm really happy with the way things are progressing.

Off to the doctor for my 10 day checkup.  More when I return

Tied my own shoes! LOL!
Broke this in two sections. First one, I wore the sling and pumped the left arm, which gave me too much shoulder action. Second half, I took the sling off and held the arm - no arm action at all made it more comfortable. Felt like a real workout! :)

Feeling much better this morning.  Going to stick to a liquid diet today to see if I can't get my gi system back in balance.

Two of the steri-strips (little pieces of tape) over my surgery sites came off.  Other than feeling a little bump, you can't even see that anything was done.  Amazing.  Tried to sleep in bed last night for the first time.  Had a bunch of pillows to prop me up and support my arm, but I couldn't get comfortable, so I ended up back in my same ole chair.  Hopefully it won't be long before I can sleep normally.

Going to try and get back into somewhat of a routine today.  The phone is starting to ring and I really don't want to get too far behind.  Routine also includes regular bouts of exercise.  I'm getting entirely too comfortable in front of the television.  I'd really like to be able to walk the 7.5 mile winter run next month, and even though its a tentative event for me, I want to start moving in that direction.

Thanks to everyone who has been hanging in here during my excessively whiney bouts.  You guys mean so much to me and are an amazing source of motivation and inspiration every day.  I appreciate that you haven't given up on me.

On the bike path. By the time I got around to doing this, I didn't feel good. I seem to have a certain window during the day to do things. Need to start using that window better.

PT went really well. My arm is being supported through everything right now and even though some of the stuff scared me, it actually felt pretty good.  PT lady was very good at explaining everything to me and showed Fred how to do all the exercises.  Should be minimal pain - at least for the next couple of weeks.

Start PT today.  I'm both excited and nernous to begin the process.  Yesterday, Fred's eye surgeon lectured me on the importance of doing pt/stretching regularly.  I'm taking Fred with me.  Am hoping that they'll show both of us what to do.  I AM walking today.  No excuses!!
