Building a lean & fit me - one bite at a time

Hard effort. Felt great. Think I did a good job at immobilizing my shoulder. Walked 3.1 & 3.2 and threw in a bunch of 30 second 4.0. Can't remember the last time I had a good continuous treadmill session this long.
Feeling much better today. HOORAY! Hard to keep the motivation levels up when you're feeling crappy. Need to remember that when things come in waves, I just need to ride it out and do what I can. Planning a longish walk on the treadmill this morning and getting some stuff done in the office. Really, that's just about everything on the agenda. Another lazyish day.

Easier to ride then walk today
Eh, just getting some time in. Definitely not feeling it.

The dinner went well last night. I didn't spill anything on me although Fred offered to dump my plate on my lap to "make my dreams come true". What a guy. lol! The dinner was to get ready for a formal fundraiser in September. I haven't been to a formal event for years and I'm looking forward to finding just the right dress. I don't even know where to look for a long evening dress other than a bridal store and I want something that looks hollywood amazing, not bridal. Yep, I've been watching too many fashion programs. When I see the price tag, I'll likely change my tune!

Had to take it easy today. Too much mouse action in the office left me stiff and sore.

5' w/u
5' c/d
10' between walking miles
Biked 10' between miles to break things up. 1st mile, I kept the arm in a sling, the second, I let it dangle, or tucked my hand into the waistband of my shorts. 2nd mile was more comfortable
Woke up feeling pretty good this morning. I do like it when that happens! Feeling a productive day in the making. Plan to get a good chunk of my end of month deadline stuff done as well as a great workout. Feel like I'm starting to settle into a good routine with the shoulder and working around it. Tried again last night to sleep in bed. Just can't get in a comfortable position though. I've tried everything I can think of to make the shoulder comfortable, but it just won't happen. I'm good for about 10 minutes, then I start fidgiting and things go downhill.

Good quote this morning:
"To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping."
Started the morning with PT. He was able to get some good range of motion out of me this morning, but really, not much more than passive motion stuff will be happening for the next several weeks. I was cautioned against doing too much without the sling. I've been walking around keeping my arm up against my body. Evidently that puts too much pressure on my bicep, so if I'm not going to be in the sling, I either have to support it with my other hand or let it hang straight down. Don't like letting it hang down while I'm walking around. It feels too vunerable. Guess I'll leave the sling on for the most part.
Signed up for a couple of events yesterday. A 5k on April 21st, and a half marathon on April 22nd. I know its a stretch to get ready for a half so quickly, but the plan officially starts January 30th. My job is to be in proper condition to start the plan. I'd like to do half TOSRV in May as well. but I'm not sure I can get in bike shape for the distance by then. Need to think about this a little more and if I'm serious, then I need to start toughening up the girlie parts a little. ![]()

Feeling rough this morning. Tried sleeping in bed again last night and had to get up and come back down to my chair. Don't know if it had an affect of the way I feel this morning, or I'm just feeling off. Going down for an easy ride and see if I can't shake some of this off. Have a haircut scheduled today and some office stuff to do. High hopes that I'll feel better as the day progresses.
