Actually had more fun than I expected today.  One of our stops was at the 29th presdient, Warren Harding's house and even though I really have no use of politics or politicians anymore, I'm still fascinated with presidents.  Very cool to see his personal things and where he lived and the big front porch where he gave his campaign speeches.  The rest of the tour, I could have easily done without, but this was memorable.   Surgery in the morning.  I haven't really been nervous, but heading home tonight, the butterflies started.

Feeling remarkably good this morning.  Right calf is tight and both feet hurt, but I'm moving pretty good.  Feet are looking forward to a couple days off though.

Heading out on a group day trip this morning.  Tour includes a tour of a machinery/tractor museum that Fred wanted to see, so off we go.  Not overly excited, but I will get away from the phone and be forced to relax for the day.

Be happy!

Round 3. Tired, but very happy to get through mile 24 for the weekend! Did this on the bike path by the creek. Lots of critters - and people!

Good walk training this weekend.  I feel better doing more even miles rather than a few then a bunch, 4-4-4 instead of 3-7-2.  Want to start earlier in the day, take shorter breaks, and work up to 5 mile increments.  Other than that, I'm thrilled with the way things are going!  Didn't get to play with the radio today.  Need to fiddle with it before I take it out on the road.

3x 4 mile walks on the agenda today.  Want to try an simulate how it will be on the road and get them all done this morning.  Taking my new radio out with me for the first time to test the GPS.  Don't think I really need to do anything other than carry the thing around and talk into it if I have something to say.  Hope I don't accidently bump the button and Fred has to listen to me sing. lol!

Had a great time yesterday walking - especially in the 5k.  It made me realize that I have influence over people and its my responsibility to set a good example.  I'm going to start making better choices in the nutrition department.  I owe it to myself, and it just might encourage someone else to make a change.

I was fairly stiff and sore last night.  Stretched things out this morning, and now the body isn't feeling too bad.  Feet are both sore, but no blisters.  Need to get through today, then I'll have a break for a few days.

I talked a couple of people into doing this who've never done a 5k before. I dropped back at the end so they wouldn't show up last in the results. Funny how your goals and perspective changes. If I would have finished last my first race, I wouldn't have ever done another one. Now I don't care, I'm just happy to be out there. I'm hoping since they weren't last, they'll want to get back out there again.

Really tired for this. It was tough to just get back out the door. Glad to be done!

Perfect weather this weekend!  Gonna be hot and sunny and a great time to be outside!  Starting the morning with a 5K & breakfast with friends.  I'll head home, then get an additional 9 miles in a couple of increments this afternoon.  Bought my radio yesterday to carry on the walk.  It has built in GPS tracking so Fred can see exactly where I am looking at a map in the motorhome.  It also has an emergency beacon that he can activate to find me if he loses radio contact.  Feels like something from a James Bond movie. lol.  Hopefully, we'll have it figured out so we can play with it tomorrow, when I'm planning 3x 4 mile walks.

I completely blew off PT yesterday.  Knew I wouldn't want to stop working in the yard to go do it, so I cancelled it early.  Bad me.  Nutrition yesterday sucked.  What happened to my discipline and self control?

It's Friday! Insert happy dance!  Doing a 5K tomorrow with several friends. Should be a great morning.  I've got a big weekend walking schedule.  12 miles both tomorrow and Sunday.  Sunday, we'll start testing new equipment for WAO.  Fred has a GPS tracker that gets a signal from my radio and we'll play with that a little and see how it works.  I was hoping that we could put a map on the WAO website so you could see on the map where I was at any given time, but I guess its not that easy.  It may end up being too complicated to put on the website, but regardless, Fred will always know my exact location.  Really, since I'm only travelling 15-20 miles a day, knowing the exact location isn't that big of a deal for almost everyone else.

Didn't end up doing much of anything yesterday.  I sat on my butt almost all day playing with WAO route information.  I took a break to get my walk in, but didn't do anything else at all.  Guess it was good for me because I feel much more energetic today.  Its funny how the progression of the week works.  On Monday, I can hardly walk from being so stiff and sore from the weekend walking and it feels great to take the day off. By Tuesday, I'm still stiff and sore, but not as much and the 4 mile walk loosens things up a bit.  Wednesday's bike really makes things feel good and gets rid of any residual soreness.  Thursday is a fun, feel good day and I'm always tempted to go farther than the plan.  By Friday, the legs and hips feel good and are ready to get back out there.  Then its time for the weekend to start it all over again.  I'm going to make a better effort to stretch lots this weekend and see if I can't head off some of the Monday stiffness.

I did a new WAO blog post yesterday.  You can read it here.

Results are back from  my bloodwork already and I am so freaking healthy, I can't believe it.  All of the numbers that used to be completely out of whack look great.  Remember when I obsessed over the hemoglobin because it hit 7?  Its now 13.  Everything looks really good!

Weight is steadily heading the WRONG direction this week.  I've been eating a lot of everything lately- real food, junk, and sweets.  Need to reign it in. We've had maybe two meals at home this week. Crazy.

Office and walking this morning.  In the yard this afternoon.  Going over to my mom's to get some hosta to transplant here so I don't have to mow as much trim.  In fact, over the next year, they're going to be appearing in lots of places that I'm tired of mowing.

Norwalk
Nice to have a new place to walk. Good variation today. Reservoir, city, and very manicured subdivision

Lots of fun doing a route study in Northern Ohio.  Really glad we went up because I've decided to change the finale of the walk from Eastern Sandusky to western Sandusky.  The original ending destination was very close to Cedar Point and we'd have a ton of traffic to deal with.  I found a great walking road  a few miles west that takes me to the other side of Sandusky where the traffic should be much better.  I just need to find a place to actually walk into the lake.  It would be anticlimatic if I made it to Sandusky and couldn't put my feet in Lake Erie.   We spent some time today at the Marblehead Lighthouse walking on the rocks.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and hardly any people were out today. Ate at my favorite fish joint - the only thing I missed was my Key Lime ice cream from Tofts.  Eh, looks like we'll have to do another trip. :)
