Spun on the trainer, mainly because it was convenient. Listened to the radio & watched football & it was bearable.

75' - z1-2

I was a bit tired after the riding this weekend, but I guess that the whole point of doing this, right? Left AT was just a little bit tight to start but was fine after about 3/4 mile. Once I got going the legs came around. It was a treat to run while it was still light out.

Scenery run later.

Bike

  • 40.26 miles
  • 16.88 Mi/hr

2.5 hrs - z1-2

How about a cheer for the weatherman getting it completely wrong! It was pretty cold, but sunny. Rode out to CC Rez & did a lap there. This was the first ride since the fitting. The position feels more aggressive but more comfortable. I keep skootching forward though, not sure if thats normal or not. Stopped around the 1/2 way point to warm up my toes since I hadn't heard from them in a while but otherwise I was mostly comfy. Except my hands got cold toawrds the end when the sweat started to freeze. Going downhill was COLD! Definatly getting some toe warmers before the next ride. This was the 1st long ride, so I guess here we go, next stop Roth.

Sport
  • Pilates
  • 30m

Skipped the gym in favor of watching the Ironman so I figured I'd try the Pilates part of the yoga video. Good core stuff but parts of it were hard

I can't believe these words are coming from me, but: I was bored so I went swimming. Not for very long, but still. Just worked on some drills.

Smells like dog food outside - must mean snow is on the way. I called about my HRM which is being fixed - the shop called Polar who said another 2-4 weeks at a minimum. After 6 weeks already. To fix a button on the side that fell off. This is ridiculous, I am officially upset with Polar. No work or workouts today. What to do, what to do...

1st 1/2 - LT-30
2nd 1/2 - 15"-20"/mile faster
last 4'-5' fast cruise.

Had to give myself a little kick but it was ok once I got going. Hip flexors were a little tight but not bad. Pace felt faster than it turned out but I wanted to be sure to keep it easy since I am still without the HRM.

Wasn't really feeling it thru the warmup but I felt better during the drills. I forgot the paddles again so I stopped there.

Made it to the pool before work. I know I'm going to have to get used to this working out in the morning thing, but it is rough. At least I have tomorrow off so I can sleep in. 1hr run tonight.

Yesterdays swim. Made it thru 1500 before I gave up on the other people in the lane. I was splitting a lane when this girl just got in & started swimming & went head first into the other guy. When we got circling she went right down the middle & wouldn't let anyone pass. Then a new guy gets in & starts kicking, which is fine but he stopped 3 times going down the lane. Then another girl got in the lane and instead of circling counter-clockwise like the other 3 of us in the lane she decided to go down the right side & then return hugging the right rope. That's when I shook my head & got out.

Thanks for the notes about Sheila. The house is quiet without her flopping in the bowl. Going to try & make up last nights swim and then bike tonight.

z1-2 scenery run

Took it easy to try & go easy on my foot (which was bothering me over the weekend) & it was fine. Otherwise it was kind of nice out there.

The bike fit went well. Got my current bike dialed in (mainly raised the seat & lowered the bars) & its a good fit for me. He recommended a few other bikes for me to test ride - I won't get more power but I can get a more aero position with a bike with a shorter reach. I can get a better position with a different frame but with my build I'll only get an ideal fit with a custom jobbie, ie Guru. So, how come ducks don't get frostbite on their legs? That water is cold! Oh, and there is something wrong with the heat at my place because it was cold this morning. I think it pushed Sheila over the edge because she died overnight. Run and/or swim tonight. I'll probably only do one.
