The question is: will this make me faster?

Beginning of walk/jog program. First, I walked for 6 minutes for warmup. Then I jogged 1 minute and walked 1 minute, alternating for 10 reps. Walk was at 3 MPH, jog was at 5 or 5.5 MPH, depending on how I felt. The knee felt good, a little sore at times, a little weak still, but mostly just feeling like I need to learn how to run again. Good first day!

12 week post-op follow up appt. today. Everything seems to be progressing according to plan. My only negatives at this point are 1. small scar tissue band on the medial aspect of my surgical knee, 2. lower leg edema persists, but is improving, and 3. cyst on my right (non-surgical) leg seems to be emerging again. The first two problems should continue to resolve on their own. The third problem will be something I have to watch over the next few weeks. If it flares up more as I continue to increase my activity level, I may need another steroid injection there. We will see.
The best news is that I can start running again! I am very excited about this, as you can probably imagine. I will start slow, with some walk/jog days at first. If that goes well, I will gradually increase my jogging until I can go for 30 minutes straight. Of course, I will continue to work on ROM and strength exercises, too.
