Continuing to lengthen the long run. It was a nice 60 degrees or so, but a very strong 20 MPH wind made the run a little less enjoyable. Also making the run less enjoyable was a pain in the arch of my left foot starting at about mile 10. I can't tell if it's coming from a tendon, plantar fascia, or bone. I'm very wary of getting a stress fracture as I push my mileage up to where I've never been before, so I will have to see how it feels over the course of the next day or two.

Tuesday - September 20

Day off for the planned 18-miler tomorrow. That's a lot of running.

I pushed a little harder today, but I still didn't feel like I was running hard. Same route as Friday, same method of not checking my time until I was back, with the exception that I did check my halfway split - 18:10.

I can tell my running is improving. I ran 5 miles at what felt like a real easy effort, without checking my watch at all until I got home, and I was well under 8 minute pace.
