Ran out of time this morning. I had to get home to work. Going to the allergist this afternoon and then to an appointment with my mom.
Friday the 13th!
The head trainer at my gym called me back today. I discussed some things with him. Unfortunatley, they only offer training packages with a contract (like 6 - 12 months). I just want to purchase a number of sessions. I would like to start off with 4 and see how things go. Nope. That is not an option. He did talk with me for a while and gave me some advice. I'll give things a try. Maybe I can find someone to train me on the side for a few sessions.
Dropped the K-Factor off at Wheelie Fun for a spring tune up. I want to be ready to ride outside as soon as it is warm.

Gym this mroning for weights and swim. I don't like swimming in such a short pool, but oh well I was able to get in some yards. Bike planned for this afternoon.
I am so frustrated with myself. I will push during cardio, but seem to stay the same weak level for weight training. I'm not sure what my deal is and why I'm not pushing it. I want to look better and gain more muscle. I know this is not going to happen if I don't suck it up and make a change. I put in the time, but not pushing myslef. I am checking into a trainer. From what I have heard is the gym only offers big packages and not just pay as you use sessions. If nothing works for me maybe I can hire someone on the side. I think even 6 sessions with someone pushing me would help.
Brick workout this afternoon.

I am so excited for summer!!! I looked at my vacation time I have for work. Looks like it will be another fun summer of vacation days for training. As of today I have a little over 300 hours (7.5 weeks) of vacation. I earn 10 hours of vacation every pay period (20 hours a month - based on position and years of service). By May I will have earned another 60 hours bringing my total to 360 hours (9 weeks). I am permitted to hold 384 hours before I max out. Looks like I will take one or two days of vacation a week again during the summer. Last summer I took lots of half days and this worked well. Funny, if I take 4 days a month - 1 day a week , that is 32 hours. I earn 20 hours a month, so really my vacation bank will only go down by 8 hours a month. Maybe this year I should start taking a vacation day a week in May. Thank goodness summer is my slow time at work so this is possible. :-)
Short brick at the gym after weights. Cut the cardio short today.

4 X 50 off starting blocks (odd free, even back) - 25 sprint, 25 easy
I didn't make it to the pool last night. I was busy around the house and it was too late to make it on time. I am also still dealing with a chlorine allergy. The new medication I take before swimming is helping some. I still think developing an allergy to chlorine at this point in my life is odd. Plan on swimming tonight.
Not many yards at swim practice tonight. Swim meet is Saturday so we were working starts and turns. I am not participating in the meet. I would rather swim. I am guessing practice will be light the rest of the week, so I may swim on my own.

I need to get my eating back under control. The last few days have been bad. I tend to eat when I am stressed or have anxiety. I submitted a rough draft of my thesis to my advisor a few weeks ago and he has still not given me feedback. My advisor from my first Masters degree was a perfectionist and my advisor this time around doesn't seem to care. I think this has been causing some stress, but I'm not sure what else is the problem. Run planned for this afternoon and swim practice tonight.
I was talked in to another race today. I usually run the Cincinnati Heart Mini Marathon 15k, but I wasn't going to this year. I have been the "team leader" for the Department of Surgery team in past years and the department has paid for the race. Well, I was asked to organize this again this year and the department will pay for it. Okay - how can I turn down a paid race? Looks like I'm in again.
Ran outside on the roads around my house. Nice 50 degree weather today. I thought my legs would be more tired after yesterday's long run. Felt good.
