More rain today.  Will need to bike today.  It may be on the trainer.  Yep - trainer ride.  Rain did clear away later and I made it to the pool for a swim.

Busy day at work with lots of meetings.  Gym this afternoon.  It was raining, so ran on the treadmill.  Rain has stopped, but it looks like it may start again.  Not sure if I'll make it to the pool tonight for a swim.

I see a green square for this weekend and it is on my BIRTHDAY!!!  Saturday will be a great day!  :-)

Half day vacation!  :-)  Gym early this morning.  Then, back home to work a little.  Decided to go to Hueston Woods this morning and then work a little more this afternoon.  First open water swim of the season.  Lake was dark, but very calm.  Fairly clean too - no scum.  Water was a bit chilly, so I wore my wetsuit.  I'm still not a big fan of wetsuits.  Guessed on the swim distance.  Had a great morning.  Now I better get soem work done!!

The run was about 6 miles shorter than planned in addition to be slower than planned.  My asthma was bothing me this morning and my lungs were tight.  Had to walk some.  Maybe pollen, grass, or tress are in bloom and that was bothering me.  Not exactly sure, but it was not a fun run.  Decided to cut it short.  Plan on swimming later. Hope that goes better.

Another long bike and short run.  It started off COLD!  It was 48 degrees.  I had on shorts, tri top, and arm warmers, and was freezing.  I know it would warm up, but it took a while.  I started feeling bad around mile 30.  Just sluggish and then realized I was so cold that I had not had anything to eat or drink yet.  I took a gel and some water and felt better after a few miles.  I stopped for a road side pee & took off the arm warmers at mile 41.  I took a different route.  I'm doing better exloring on my own.  Dave likes to stick to a planned route, but Pat, Simon & I would ride, get lost, and find our way back.  Getting lost is not as much fun alone, but I did OK.  :-)  I'm going to have to try to work my schedule with Dave's to ride with him some.  I ride faster and push myslef when I'm trying to keep up with him.  I stopped again at mile 95.  I saw my brother-in-law in his Butler County cop car along the road.  He saw me too.  He was working.  We pulled off to the side and talked for a while.  Probably not a good idea to stop with only 5 miles left, especially when the last 5 miles are hilly!  Legs were tight, but I finished the last 5  and made it home.  I then did a quick transition and went for a very short run.

My neighbor's daugher (4 years old) is having a dance recital tonight.  She sold me a ticket a few weeks ago and is so excited.  It will be a cute show.  :-)

Busy day at work today.  The Surgery Resident Research Competition was this mroning.  My residents did a great job presenting our research.  Now that this event is over, I can pull together the final academic year end report.  I will present an overview of the research conducted this year, awards, etc.  at the graduation dinner in two weeks.  After work I went to the allergist for my allergy shots and then to the DMV.  Yep, I have a birthday this month and needed new registration tags.  :-)
