The run was about 6 miles shorter than planned in addition to be slower than planned. My asthma was bothing me this morning and my lungs were tight. Had to walk some. Maybe pollen, grass, or tress are in bloom and that was bothering me. Not exactly sure, but it was not a fun run. Decided to cut it short. Plan on swimming later. Hope that goes better.

Another long bike and short run. It started off COLD! It was 48 degrees. I had on shorts, tri top, and arm warmers, and was freezing. I know it would warm up, but it took a while. I started feeling bad around mile 30. Just sluggish and then realized I was so cold that I had not had anything to eat or drink yet. I took a gel and some water and felt better after a few miles. I stopped for a road side pee & took off the arm warmers at mile 41. I took a different route. I'm doing better exloring on my own. Dave likes to stick to a planned route, but Pat, Simon & I would ride, get lost, and find our way back. Getting lost is not as much fun alone, but I did OK. :-) I'm going to have to try to work my schedule with Dave's to ride with him some. I ride faster and push myslef when I'm trying to keep up with him. I stopped again at mile 95. I saw my brother-in-law in his Butler County cop car along the road. He saw me too. He was working. We pulled off to the side and talked for a while. Probably not a good idea to stop with only 5 miles left, especially when the last 5 miles are hilly! Legs were tight, but I finished the last 5 and made it home. I then did a quick transition and went for a very short run.
My neighbor's daugher (4 years old) is having a dance recital tonight. She sold me a ticket a few weeks ago and is so excited. It will be a cute show. :-)

Busy day at work today. The Surgery Resident Research Competition was this mroning. My residents did a great job presenting our research. Now that this event is over, I can pull together the final academic year end report. I will present an overview of the research conducted this year, awards, etc. at the graduation dinner in two weeks. After work I went to the allergist for my allergy shots and then to the DMV. Yep, I have a birthday this month and needed new registration tags. :-)

1/2 day vacation. Strength training this morning and then home to work. I'm planning on going to Houeston Woods this afternoon for open water swim, bike, and run. The rain should clear out by then.
Rain cleared out, but at noon it was in the mid 60's, overcast, and windy. I didn't think many people wuld be in or around the lake today, so I skipped the open water swim. :-( I hope to get in at least one open water swim before next Saturday's race. I did a brick this afternoon. Windy, but a good workout.

Busy day in the office today. I was at the hosital by 5:15AM, so no time for an early morning workout. Three college students started today in my department (summer interns). Each will be working 20 hours a week. I spent most of the day with them showing them around and getting projects set up for them. Didn't get much of my own work done. Oh well, it will be nice once they get settled.
I went to the gym on the way home. It is still raining. I need to make myself get on the trainer. Yuck!
