Mission Bay morning run.

I had uploaded my CV to several sites and directly applied for several jobs during the past few weeks. Toward the end of last week and this week I stated getting multiple emails and calls. Exciting! :-) Hoping to have a few offers soon. I was thinking it would be nice to start after the first of the new year, but most of the jobs are ready now. Going to roll with it and try to not stress.

TAPER!!! Skipped the afternoon swim today. :-( Too busy with work and a lunch time in person interview.

Kirsty gave me a pair of Super Feet insoles to try in my running shoes. Maybe it helped the plantar fasciitis a bit. It didn't make it any worse, so I will continue to use them.

Mission Bay. Long run. Felt good. Nice steady easy pace. Foot is still bothering me and started to hurt around mile 18. Just need to get through October 12 and then I will take a break and let it fully heal.

Dinner with Kirsty this evening. It was nice to hang out and talk about her race plans for next year. She is fast and is going to be even faster next year.

Very early morning start. Fiesta Island. I ride slower in the dark even on familiar roads. Hope to get in as many miles as possible before dark at the race. Around and around and around..... Windy. The wind gets stronger late morning and early afternoon. I noticed something was going on with my bike almost at the turn off point of the island. I pulled over and saw a large tack in the tire. Looked at the Garmin - exactly 8 hours. I made it back to the car and realized the tack was large enough to cut the tire. The tube and the tire needed to be replaced. Of course I had a tube, but no tire. Ride was over. At least I made it back to the car. Was hoping for 10 hours, but had to settle with 8.
