Long ride. Got about 10 miles or so in before heading out with the group to Marshall. Out 968, back 449. Had a few good pulls on the way out, but for the most part this was just nice base riding. Fairly small group today, but I'm thinking it was because of the half-marathon/5k this morning. Regardless, great way to spend the first part of my Saturday!

Warmup w/ 2 x 1' sprints
3 x 5' power intervals @ 100rpm w/ 5' recover
12' steady state alternating 80rpm and 100rpm every 2'
Cooldown
Trainer, doing one of Carmichael's training sessions for time trialing. Painful workout. It's always hard to get the HR up for extended periods on the trainer. So keeping the HR around 170 during the power intervals was more than difficult.

Wednesday Night Ride. Managed to sneak in half an hour before, and I rode until the sun went down after. Steady pace when I was pulling. Tried to keep the group together. Managed to get a good sprint in on the hill at the end of 1650. Dwight said he was going 26 up the hill when I passed him like he was standing still. I guess that's encouraging.

MNR! Daylight Savings is my favorite holiday of the year! Lower turnout, which always seems to be the case early in the year. I was hoping that the warmer weather would have everybody in a bit better shape, but this ride was essentially Pat and me pulling the group as people fell off. Only Guck stayed with us until the end, and he seemed to be struggling to keep up as well which is common for early season. Found myself sneaking off the front when pulling, so I'd let up and regroup. Didn't hit the hill on Sam Page hard, but I did get a good sprint to the speed bumps in. Fairly pleased with the fitness level given I haven't really been riding too intensely yet.
21.7mph avg for the main ride

Headed over to Tyler for their group ride. Not sure if I'm getting in shape, or they weren't riding too hard into Troup today because it felt fairly relaxed. Hopefully I'm getting into shape. About 10 of us were still up front as we were nearing the city limits, so I hit a hill hard when it was my turn to pull to drop everybody except Andy, Eddie, and Chuck. Turns out there was no sprint. Felt good to ride hard, but I was hoping for more intensity. Forgot to bring the HR monitor, so time and distance are estimates.
Great week of training! That almost resembles a week of training for somebody who competitively races bicycles. :)
