First evening bike ride of the year. Was tired from all the running and really didn't eat properly for the ride. Was already depleted and had no calories. So it was a slow ride and I struggled late. I really just needed some calories. Parked on the "hill" in Westminster and did the Good Intent road loop. It was good to be out on a bike. Was windy and definitely got chilly late.

Big marathon pace workout with Jon.

10 miles EZ - 12 miles @MP (6:22 avg) - 1 mile easy

Did the first 6 easy miles alone. Met Jon at the 6 mile mark and he ran 4 easy miles and 11 marathon pace with me. It was another one of those mornings where I didn't feel great and wondered how on earth I was going to get through that workout. I actually felt terrible on Saturday and just slightly better today. The easy miles weren't too bad but once I started the 12 @MP I did start feeling better. It was a tough workout. Probably harder than I would have liked it to be...but I got through it and this certainly gives me confidence that I'll be able to put up a good effort at Boston.

Medium/Long lunch run. Working from home.

Cold and windy as hell again. Not quite as cold and windy as yesterday but there were spots that were brutal. First half of the run I felt great...but definitely degraded quickly over the last few miles. The wind beat me up and I was running on empty.
