Walk down to the main street to follow the parade of the papier-mache ogres for Balinese New Year and back.

Solid training week. It's been good. Not easy, but good.

We're in lockdown in Bali now--their Hindu-based New Year. No electricity, no lights, no cooking, black out the windows, etc. The entire island shuts down. Nothing's open the day after, either.

Tonight Kingsley and I walked down to the main street to watch the parades and festivities and noise with the papier-mache monster centerpieces. Here's the one in my little neighborhood.

Of course I also chip a front tooth tonight--ow ow ow! And no dentist for 3 days! Murphy ... grrrrrrr.

With the Bali Aqua Stars squad ... this was serious shyte especially after this morning's workout! Blech. At least I wasn't the slowest one there. That's because three other triathletes showed up ;) Also, it's a 50m pool (no lane lines) at, I kid you not, 30C (86F). Dying.

WU: 400 as 25 scull/25 kick/25 drill/25 swim, repeats
6 x 100 @:10R one-arm free with breathing-arm side down (everyone else got to do catch-up, WTF)
MS: 2 x 1000 timed @20:00 ... totally lost count on the first and swam 1100. Awesome!

Really solid. All upper half of the big-ring with the trainer drum screwed so tight it was pressing deep into the tyre.
