  • 1h 00m
  • 21.00 miles
  • 21.00 Mi/hr

on the trainer, no resistance. felt good to get the legs moving that fast without resistance.

either a run or a bike on the trainer, if i have time before we leave.  screw that, i'll MAKE time.  i'll have to find time to run the 6-8 tomorrow or sunday.  have a good weekend people.

September 1

Strength
  • 30m

walk, stretch and core

i forgot to mention that part of  my run yesterday was through trails, 4.3 miles of it, that must be why i'm feeling some discomfort today.  i may lift or swim or do nothing today, i'm not sure yet.

August 31

Run
  • 3h 00m 07s
  • 20.20 miles
  • 08m 55s /Mi

if this is any indication of how chicago is gonna go, it is gonna SUCK! this run felt good for about 5 miles, 5 miles in, the other 15+ did not feel good, felt like i really had to push this pace, even though the running gods tell me that i should be running my long runs right around 9 min miles. i hope they're right, and i hope this makes me sooper strong for the race. i was bored outta my mind, so i'm counting on fit to keep me entertained during the race:)

August 30

Bike
  • 1h 12m 22s
  • 21.30 miles
  • 17.66 Mi/hr

VERY WINDY! so i went sooper slow at some times and sooper fast at others.

the bike will be complete today, and maybe a swim....was that my outside voice?

STICK A FORK IN ME, I'M DONE!

August 29

Run
  • 10m
  • 1.20 miles
  • 08m 19s /Mi

needed to run more but i forgot my orthotics and it felt very strange without them. but this completed the challenge.

Strength
  • 45m

eliptical trainer (30) and stretching(15).

Sport
  • Walking
  • 20m
i GOTTA get back to my marathon training this week.

August 27

Run
  • 1h 23m 15s
  • 10.00 miles
  • 08m 19s /Mi

the garmin said i did 10.6 miles, i imagine with all the weaving in and out and not following the blue line EXACTLY might've given me a little bit more distance, but i've a hard time believing it was a half mile. so the splits will be off a tad until we get the posted results.
1-7:50
2-7:36
3-7:51
4-6:44
5-6:43
6-8:03 this includes a gel refueling and a 'where the hell is a porta john' timeout
7-8:20
8-8:18
9-8:39
10-8:20
last .6-4:38
garmin says 10.6=7:49 pace with a max speed of 5:19-THANKS A LOT RICK
felt better at the end then i expected, considering how crappy i felt during the run! way too humid for trixie.

yes, jkbostic, a race this distance was definitely doable as a training run, and that is what i did, even though rick did start me off a bit too fast.  it was nice to have someone to run with for at least the first 5.  thanks rick.  and thanks to grillmaster too, he ran with me for a bit.  no thanks to GR8SAX, just kidding, it was very nice to met you too, see you in chicago.

on a side note, i broke the "pull up/hang" record for the marine recruiting booth.  shattered it by 41 seconds and then an hour later some chick beat mine by 5 second, bitch:)  so i went back and broke the regular pull up record for the chicks and finished it off with 2 one handed pull ups HOO- RAH rick has some photos :) i was filmed doing my 'stuff' and interviewed by a tv crew, i'm sure i looked like shit as i just finished the 10 miler and then this pull up stuff!
