- you don't recognize your friends with real clothes on
- your feet look better without toenails
- 6 am is sleeping in
- you are tempted to look for a bush when there is a long line at a public restroom
- you don't think twice about eating food you picked up off the floor
- you develop an unnatural fear of mountain lions
- when you don't even look for the potajohns anymore
- you run marathons for speed work
- someone asks how long your training run is gonna be. you answer 7-8...hours
- people at work think you are in a whole lot better shape than you think you are
- your weekend runs are limited by how much time you have not by how far you can run
- you tried hashing but the trails were too short and easy
- you rotate your shoes more than you rotate your tires
- you envy tom hanks' long run in forest gump
- you put more miles on your feet in a weekend then you do on your rental car
- you plan vacations around races
- you start considering your next vacation location on the merits of it's ultras.

we compromised, they promised there would be no revolt at umstead.
pull ups and hand stand pushups are killing me... but in a good way.
There is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul. ~Edith Wharton
100 MILER QUOTE OF THE DAY:

On the daily, off the hizzle,

any idiot can run a marathon. it takes a special kind of idiot to run an ultra.
just reminiscing about my stronger days...can't wait to stop running ungodly miles per week and start building some strength again.
March 13

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: from chippy to me- "you like, da man. but with girlie parts."
100 MILER QUOTE OF THE DAY:
When my body gives out and my head tells me to quit, my heart compels me to struggle on. At some point, however, my head and my heart get in 'cahoots' with each other. They both demand I stop. That is when my Spirit soars and their protestations are of no avail. I am propelled by a Force unseen, drawn to a potential I have yet to realize. I shake off the burden of the physical and wake up to experience my dream. At last I am free. -Dog Gezgo
