didnt want to do anything tonight but i sucked it up and went down to the marquette track, which i wonderfully had all to myself, and kicked my own butt for an hour. did a 2 mile warm up then did one mile at LT @ 6:44, 1 mile moderate hard effort @ 7:56, .5 mi hard @ 3:04, .5 mi mod hard @ 3:09, 2 mi cool down, and a little barefoot running which is something id like to do more of to build up foot strength and help prevent running injuries. i could definitely tell i havent done any fast stuff in awhile cause this i was struggling haha...and it was crazy humid AGAIN.
feelin good today, just wish i would have been able to get in a longer ride yesterday before the thunderstorms tried to zap me!
LESS THAN 5 WEEKS!!! absolutely terrifying but exhilarating at the same time :)

4900ft ascent
rode out to EL again and swam and then rode out west to some big hills that chris had told me to check out and it was sweet! 7 hill road has a bunch of big painful hills and then i hit one on a side road on the way back where first i went down into the valley and hit 45mph while sitting up and holding the brakes trying not to die and then about a mile or two later was the uphill and i was going 5-6 mph up it standing for 2 minutes...ouch! rode through rain for about 45 minutes which was good practice just in case moo decides to be a little rainy.
did i mention i like swimming in the lake?

well, for me this is a long run :) but i felt good doing it and wasnt hurtin too bad until the last mile or two. im definitely going into IMWI undertrained on the run but i would much rather be where im at now than be "prepared" and injured. not much i can do about having to take so long off of running this summer but il do my best now to get as ready as i can without hurting myself. hopefully my taper is magical :)

rode from my house out to chris' place in EL and then swam and rode back. great night for a ride!
i love elkhart lake! the temp right now is just about perfect and the water is so clear...sure is a whole lot more fun than swimming in a pool and much less boring. kept it at a pretty comfortable level for most of the swim but pushed it harder the last 10 minutes or so. and guess what, someone jacked my freakin towel while i was swimming!! how ridiculous is that!? and the funny part is that my dad was 5 feet away from it reading his newspaper and never noticed lol...

holy hot ride! it was one of those days today when the breeze didnt cool you off at all, it was like opening up the oven. drank all my gu2o and took a few endurolytes to help fight the heat and it seemed to work pretty well. rode easy the first hour and a half and then pushed it more the last hour.
was up til 4am at childrens hospital because my sister was ambulance'd there for some bad breathing problems she was having due to vocal chord spasms but thankfully she is doing much better this morning and will hopefully get to go home today!
rachel went home tonight and is feeling better but still not normal but at least she got to go home!

warmup/cooldown
i was sick of long boring easy z1 stuff so i had some fun today and went harder for my ride. pretty windy out there but it was mostly from the west so i didnt have to deal with it as much as usual but i could feel it helping me on the way home and i was flying! i love going fast :)
my bike is finally almost done :) :) :) i think the wheels will be faster when theyve got a cassette, tubes and tires though...
so either i slept like a rock right through my alarm or it didnt go off this morning, oops...so il be biking tonight
