Run
  • 57m 43s
  • 10.00 kms
  • 05m 46s /KM

Lunch run slow enough not to disturb the ankle.
It was really humid and hot and this slow pace actually felt right for the conditions.

Strength
  • 30m

5 usual sets with25lbs weights, pushups and situps.

Sport
  • Walking
  • 1h 00m

Park duties plus long way home.

It's strange, but this is about the time of the year when my motivation seems to be at a low point. I noticed it few times before, just when the weather gets actually good (not today... but in general) I really don't feel like doing much. Not that it matters much in my case, so far I have been maintaining a volume that I don't need for any other reason then feeling good about being able to maintain a certain volume. One day it will be turned into something more useful...

----------

Thunderstorm now. To go or not to go? No, it's raining more, forget it.

Tha plan was to go to the park, but the little one slept soundly so we ended up at the Buckingham Fountain again and then walked back.

Have to drive to Elk Grove Village (I don't think there's any elk there, but there's deer) today and doubt any workout will get done.

MTB commuting.

Run

Lunchtime run in the rain. It started just when i left home and gradually intensified.

Didn't plan on any speed work, but ended up going faster the middle 5kms. When I was close to home, it looked I had a chance to do PB and sped up. Maybe next time, this 51' is hard to beat.

Swim

  • 1500.00 meters
  • 02m 27s /100 meters

The usual. Just this time it was like pulling teeth, the legs were sinking, low energy, I better have something to eat and a coffee before the swim next time.

Commuting to the lake and back.

Bike #2
  • 2h 01m
  • 51.12 kms
  • 25.35 KM/hr

Was planning on two loops, but got up too late. Perfect weather, not much wind, usual congestion. Had a great ride though.

Sport
  • Walking
  • 2h 00m

We ended up walking to the Chicago Blues Festival. All up we walked for something like 5hrs! I'll log 2...

We walked to the Colombian Caffee Society, had a cuppa, then to the lake where we cheered a 5kms walk for visually impaired folks, then walked to the Monroe Harbor and ended up at the Grand Park and the annual Blues Festival. Some great music, food and lots of people. The little one had a ball (figuratively and literally).
We were on our feet for more than 6hrs... I'm tired, my wife barely made it home.

----------

And now we're off to the park.

June 13

Run
  • 1h 26m 35s
  • 15.08 kms
  • 05m 44s /KM

Had a terrible lunch: pan fried 2 boca burgers in oil (usually I get the grilled ones, not classic ones which need to be fried, because they taste too plain...). That was way too heavy for the stomach today and while I ran the first half in 42 min, the second half my stomach felt like being punched few times. I had to walk a bit and also, as I was making my way through the Soldier Field crowd, the cigarette and alcohol fumes made me almost stop and puke. So it was an eventful run...

Strength
  • 18m

3 sets of usual 25 lbs weights with pushups and 25 pushups each set.

17:13 The sun came out and I got a bit motivated. Battling headache, toothache and stomach ache today, so we're running on Advil.

---------

Cold, windy and raining again and I'm inspired to sleep all day.

June 12

Bike
  • 2h 21m
  • 51.12 kms
  • 21.75 KM/hr

MTB. Great break from just riding on the lakefront trail.
Felt good to smell all the bakeries and chocolate factories in the area (and sewer/ other factories as well...).

This city can be likeable on a day like this....

Sport
  • Walking
  • 45m

Park duties and long way home.

The ride/commute went fine, it was great to do some usual lakefront bit going faster and then go through the traffic and very vibrant part of the city along Milwaukee Avenue. I must say - a pretty long way to buy some bread and paper in the morning though...

Milwaukee Avenue.

----------

Internet connection problems today... we have linksys wireless and sometimes the connection is lost for unknown reason. Maybe it's Comcast, who knows. It seems to be working now.

----------

05:47 It stopped raining and the bike is out. Goingto the lake, than South 10kms, turn around, North forabout 20kms, then - turn left to Belmont and ride through the city about 5kms to get some bread (Polish bakery - one of the best in the world...) and finally -  along Milwaukee Ave back home. That's the plan.
