He's gone 'The Distance'. Now what..?

I'm logging the walk to the zoo, what the heck.

Had fun cheerleading in Racine. Awesome race, this time incredibly well run. The new thing was - no race numbers on the run, only timing chips (I still wonder how they're going to sort out all the photos?...).

This one was easy to sort out: my girls and Blake Becker, the winner (dude drinking water).
N.B. this way I got the see the very front of the pack (never get to see those guys from where I am in the packing order).

Finish area towards the end of the day.

Walked to the zoo after the race and really spent a lot of time (like all day) on my feet.

Bike
  • 40m
  • 12.00 kms
  • 18.00 KM/hr

MTB commuting to the beach and back.

Swim
  • 35m
  • 1500.00 meters
  • 02m 19s /100 meters

OWS in Lake Michigan. Distance is approx.

Cold water today and cold air made it no fun. Swimming out was against everything, current, chop, sun, but the way back was easy. Drank lots of H20...

Made it back just before hundreds of swimmers participating in the Swim Across America hit the water.

Sport
  • Walking
  • 1h 00m

Park, store, running around. We left the house at 9am and got back at 1pm.

These guys were doing 3 miles today...   Swim Across America.

July 17

Run
  • 26m
  • 5.00 kms
  • 05m 12s /KM

And when I got home I changed and went for a run. So this was the first brick this year. Running felt hard only for the first few minutes, then it was just a bit harder.
Damn I'm good... ;)

Bike
  • 2h 33m
  • 62.80 kms
  • 24.63 KM/hr

Yep, I did it again. Lots of red lights (traffic, not the other kind...), collapsed sewer manholes, potholes, buses, you name it - the works. It was fun.

Oh, nutrition: 1 tofu sandwich and 1 danish apple turnover fresh from the bakery (nutrition choice #1 btw), I couldn't resist. And some Gatorade, blah, blah.

July 16

Bike
  • 1h 28m
  • 40.00 kms
  • 27.27 KM/hr

Did 2 loops on the South side from Soldier Field to the beachhouse. Not much wind and not too many riders and runners. Good ride, for 10k on the second loop drafted off few roadies and that was fun going well over 30km/hr with hardly any effort (my front wheel was overlapping the rear wheel of the guy in front...).

I don't want to bother logging the commute to the lake.

Sport
  • Walking
  • 1h 30m

Longer walk today. We went to the lake, did a little detour to the Trek LBS, checked the ridiculous prices on everything, then went to the park, then another park and since it was getting late/hot we did walk/run thing.

Note to self: I have to play with my position on the bike, or rather, seat hight a bit. Seems it's a tad too high.

July 15

Bike
  • 57m
  • 25.00 kms
  • 26.32 KM/hr

MTB commuting. Had to get the milk s first went to to lake for a little ride.

With this strong westerly wind it was hot and dry, but had a good ridein spite of the headache.
