He's gone 'The Distance'. Now what..?
July 5
July 4
It started raining the moment I left the house, but overall, not a bad run. Was tired from yesterday, but the moment I got going, it was back to normal. Not many people on the trail today, but I guess in few hours the lakefront will be packed. I can already hear the explosions.
Had only 24oz of Gatorade and it was very humid.
Park duties.
We had fun at the Taste of Chicago last night. I have never seen that many people in my life (1 000 000 apparently, according to some estimates!!!) and the fireworks were awesome. Feel really tired today. Was planning a run, but right now that doesn't sound too good. And there's an Ironman New Zealand on channel 5-3 at 10am which means couch potato...

Some pictures from yesterday:
Hold your horses guys, we're coming through!
How do we get to the other side???
Are you thirsty? Don't even think about it....
The grand finnale.
July 3
Believe it or not, but I forgot something and went there again...
(this is like 'Dumb and Dumber' revisited)
Great weather, 70F, overcast, no wind. Had a very enjoyable ride. With the exception of this drunk mad moron who wanted to cross the street in between lights. He just stopped in the middle of the lane, spread his arms and almost foaming at the mouth screamed : Stop! mother f******!!!
Walked to the Taste of Chicago(Grant Park) and basically was on my feet from 4-11. Yes, 7hrs, but will log just 2.
July 2
MTB commuting o the pool and back.
Straight swim. At the end the chlorine was burning my mouth and nose.
Park duties.
July 1
MTB commuting.
MTB ride. Just when I left home it started drizzling and I should have turned around...
It was an experience, got wet, got hungry, started slowing down etc.
Tomorrow have an OWS with my brother if he gets up that early... that also means he needs to get his bike dusted off, I better make sure he does. He seems to be a bit motivated these days as the Chicago triathlon is approaching. I guess he even got some runs done already.
June 30
Went to bed late after watching 'The Ref' with Dennis Leary and having a good laugh again. Then had a crappy sleep, so this run was not really happening in spite of the great weather (sunny, 64F, 69%, no wind).
Still, it was fun to start the day along the lake again.
5 usual sets with 25lbs weights, squats, pushups, the works.

MTB commuting to the beach and back.
OWS at Ohio Street Beach.
Water temp. was 60 something, just perfect on the cool side, bit choppy on the way out. Had to cut the swim short as the family was waiting for some groceries I was asked to buy (bottle of champagne and something sweet...).
Walked to Grand Park again, great weather, the little one loved the fountain. We were on our feet actually 6 hrs non stop, but I'll log 2 to be decent.
