Outside run. When you've been running in temps in the 30s and 40s, running in the 70s feels HOT! I was sweating in the first 5 minutes and I had on shorts and a sports bra tank.

500 warmup in 10:40
200 pull buoy
300 drills
10 x 50 - I surprised myself on these; there first few were around :54; I think all were between :54 and :57.
3 x 100 - the first two were right at 2:00 and then during the third one I got a massive cramp in my left foot and ended at 2:05; Because of the cramp I couldn't swim much more
200 pull buoy to cool down

I wanted to swim farther tonight, but that cramp really got me. It went away, but felt like it could come back at any moment. And after running earlier, my body just felt done.

Since the beginning of the year, I have been trying to keep track of what I eat each day. Not necessarily how much and I'm not counting calories, but just logging what I eat. I know that food choices will be important during IM training so I'm trying to see now if I can find a pattern of what foods work better for me than others. I feel like I'm doing ok for now, but the one thing I think I can improve on is how much water I drink. I drink more than most people, but I know I should drink more. I do really well in the morning at work, but once I get home, I slow down.

Our games today didn't start until 2, so I had time to get on the treadmill this morning. Once our girls started playing today it was win or go home. They gave us some scares at times, but kept winning and made it to the finals. You could tell they were getting tired from playing volleyball all weekend and they started missing serves. That is a BIG pet peeve of the coach, so he started making them do push ups for every missed serve. Since our parents love and support our girls, when the final game was over, we all got on the floor and did push ups for them. And by the way, they got second in their bracket. For all they had been through this weekend, they did awesome and I was so proud of them.

Another yellow square in the chart, but with good reason. Up early this morning for more rounds of volleyball. And it was a very emotional day. Yesterday after our last match, we were all getting in our cars to go back to the hotel. One of the moms had been saying she didn't feel well and had a headache. As she was pulling out of the parking lot with two of the girls in her car, she told her daughter she felt dizzy. Her daughter told her to stop the car, which she did, but then she had mumbled speech and passed out. We ended up having to call 911 and she was transported to the hospital. We found out later that she had a massive stroke and they do not expect her to recover from it. We had to tell the girls this morning before their first game. They were all upset. And since we were now missing another player, the rotation had to change. My daughter, who is a defensive specialist, was now going to play the whole game - back row and front row. She's never played front row, so it was all new to her. Other changes were made as well. The girls played well, but you could tell at times their minds were elsewhere. After the last game of the day, we all decided that the whole team should go eat dinner together to help them get their mind off of it. We headed downtown San Antonio for some great Tex Mex (and margaritas for the parents). No way I was getting on the treadmill after that. It was a very long, emotional day.

Up at 5, breakfast at 6. Volleyball at 8, 11, and 12 for my daughter. They won two matches and lost the third in 3 games. Late lunch. Even with waiting a bit, it was hard to run so soon after eating, but I wanted to make sure I got in some kind of exercise.
