TWENTY MILES BEFORE 7:30AM!

My last really long run before Austin. I felt pretty strong throughout. I think my overall pace was more like 8:30 b/c I didn't stop my watch when I stopped for water!

Last 2 miles at around 7:45 pace.

Wow, what a difference a day makes! This ride was a blast and it definitely wouldn't have been as fun had I not gone out yesterday. It was still pretty cold and windy today, but not as bad as yesterday. Yesterday really enhanced my perspective! You take the bad to get the good!

Rode into Coppel and Las Colinas.

I was enjoying my workout so much that I didn't want it to end! So, I did my first brick in THREE months even though I wasn't planning on it.

A little stiff at the start, but nothing I haven't felt before. I was pleasantly surprised how strong I was able to run despite not doing any bricks since Longhorn.

I think my marathon training is really improving my running!

This was probably the coldest ride I've ever done. The wind chill heading north was probably in the high teens when I started and in the 20s for most of the ride!

I won't lie. This wasn't fun, and it pretty much sucked the whole ride. But it was a good mental toughness builder, and I kept a surprisingly good mental attitude the whole ride. I never really let the cold or wind get to me. I acknowledged it and moved on to try to think about other things.

I turned my watch around on my wrist so I couldn't tell how slow I was going into the wind. This trick worked great, and I think contributed a lot to my positive mental state!

Like I said, it sucked, but I'm really glad I did it!
