Quick workout before picking up mini-me. Stretched for about 20 minutes prior. Not too sure I should be running or swimming until my big toe is in one piece again.

For not training- not too bad. Only 5 minutes off of my time for last year, and I attribute most of that to the 180 degree turns on the bike (8 of them) and a few very steep hills on the run. I really should start training though.
So... mounting the bike: I had my shoes already in the pedals, I hopped on and began to ride. The girl right in front of me couldn't get clipped in and stopped short causing me to have to do the same. With my left foot not in the shoe it slid off and the top of my big toe dragged along the pavement for a foot or so (I ride without socks). When I finally got riding and went to strap in, I saw the blood starting to find its way through the cuts. Oh well... it happens. It really didn't bother me all that much during the race, and I now have a really cool blood stain on my running socks and shoes. Got it cleaned up afterwards and knew that it was going to really be a PITA for the next week or so.
