Stayed at the 2:35/2:25 run/walk ratio (upping for next time -- probably Sat.)
Run pace: 12:36
Walk pace: 15:12
Sprint: 9:47
Run HR: 149, Walk HR: 139
A little slow today -- had to wait at one cross street -- idiot car nearly left turned into me. Ok, I know it's pitch black out, but I'm wearing white; I'm not exactly invisible. Grrrrr.

Nice cool morning for running. I'd like to figure out a way to see how long I'm holding that sprint pace (it's never very long, but it would be fun to track it.)
Done teaching for the day. :o Had one first grade class; we were reviewing the three verses of "Yankee Doodle" that we had learned the previous week. Verse 3 has "Captain Washington upon a slapping stallion". Kids remembered that Cpt. Wash. was George. Kind of remembered that stallion = horse. (There's only a big picture of a grey horse next to the word stallion). But what kind of horse?
Them: "Grey"?
Me: "No, not necessarily."
"Big?"
"Sometimes. Let me give you a hint: I have three horses; two stallions and one mare. The stallions are named Francisco and Kevin and the mare is named Nadia. What is a stallion?"
"A big horse?"
It took them FIVE MINUTES to figure out that a stallion was a "boy" horse. And we had gone over it thoroughly the previous week. ARRRRRGH

Did about 1/2 of Spinervals 16.0 Had to keep getting up: phone, dog, child #1 (who is STILL awake at 9:29 PM -- guess she's slept out from the past couple of days.
Played with the Garmin software a little -- looks like I kept that "sprint" pace for approx. 1 minute on Monday. Gotta be a better way to figure that out, though. Mimi, any thoughts?
Well, not a particularly great week, training-wise. Child #1 came home sick from school on Tues and it took 4 days and 2 dr. visits to get the diagnosis of strep throat and some antibiotics. Couldn't get to the pool at all, and just haven't even been able to do the drainer at night. Frustrating.
