Master Swim. Felt pretty good tonight.

I am going to chill for most of the day. I'll clean up the house a bit wile watching the D-Backs day game. Tonight calls for masters swim. Sounds good to me. I s*ck at swimming so I'm at least trying to be consistent in swimming. I really need to get past 1500m on a regular basis. The problem is that this distance is when the wheels start to fall off.

My volunteer schedule for IMAZ

I'm off to the movies with the family. I'll comment when I return. We went to see Horton hears a who. I think this is the best of the Dr. Suess books that have been made into a movie.

I must admit today's ride was a struggle for me. I'm actually pretty new to road riding. Most of my mileage has been in races. I met up with Tanya, Jerry and Ken for the ride.

I was dropped by them in the parking lot. I simply could not keep up. The beginning of the Tour De Gilbert loop was pretty windy. Everytime I would catch up. They were ready to go. I felt bad but I was peddling my a$$ off.  I told them to go ahead and not worry about me. On the way back I fell at a stop light and had to stop to tighten my aerobars. Not fun. Turns out that my cleat was loose on my left shoe which was making it difficult to unclip, thus a fall. My legs were burnin' and my HR was climbing as I tried to keep up

I made it back to the cars and agreed to complete another modified loop. I was able to stay with the group this time. I think they must have felt sorry for me and eased up.

I'm chalking this up to experience and mental training. I seriously wanted to stop during the first loop.

We then went to Einstein bagels for lunch. Harry and Cora joined us along with Jen and Josh who completed a 16 mile training run. Shelley and Emily also joined us. This was some good times. It's always fun to eat with the group after some nice training.

The water felt fine at Saguaro. We will only have a few weeks of wetsuit swimming before it gets too hot.
