WOW...what a "different" run. Ran the first 5 alone and at a decent pace then hooked up with Dr. GoodHands. At the 1.25 distance (for her) she started having stomach "issues". We walked and tried to figure out what was up with that...don't think we really decided on anything for sure. Continued walk/run (in that order) until she finished about 5 miles +. I still had not quite 4 to go so I started again and felt well for a while but cut back to 3/1 from the 4/1 that I had been doing earlier. Finished strong but was glad I was done.
Having some pain in my hips...used to have issues with tendonitis there...don't know....I know it is surely not because I am frickin old. I'll monitor this for the rest of the week.
Rant on....Why the frick do they not make things to fit "grown" people???? Yes....I know 6'4" is above average but why can't we at least have some things that accomodate us. I get home and am going to take an "ice bath" (no ice really just stupid cold water).....but NOOOOOOO that won't work because I can't straighten out my legs in any tub in the house...WTF. Believe me the benifits outweigh the hassles but that's no comfort to my frickin legs.......Rant OFF.
I have been working a lot lately on "mental toughness" and today was super in that respect. The fact that I started and finished strong and didn't let the problems that Dr. GH had distract me from my goals. I have told her that we are together in this and while I believe hanging with her through her "issues" was VERY important, it was critical for me to stick with it and finish the distance.

Softball is over for the year. Lost 4-3 today...played 3 games...1-11 innings, 1-8 innings and 1-7 inning affair and we only score 5 runs...can't win like that playing in the toughest region in the state...(at one time this year 5 of the top 10 teams ranked were from this region...the largest classification in Ga.) Time to reflect and start getting ready for baseball and getting some serious training done.
Had a very good conversation with a dear friend this A.M. who helped me put some things in perspective...as I knew they would. This helped me with a huge decision that has been weighing on me. I now just have to be strong enough to carry it out as I know I should....thanks "B".

Lost a tough one last night...2-1 in 8 innings. We have played 19 innings in 2 days and only given up 2 runs....bad news is that we have only scored 2 runs...1-1 and we play again Mon...can't lose any more.
Ran at Suwanee today and felt wonderful. Ran early and the weather was the bomb! Even though I am still doing 4/1 or 5/1 (most times) I feel like I am back to form as far as running goes.
Dr. GoodHands (BT-sahooper) turned 55 today...Happy Birthday, "S". Went to her favorite sushi place with J, M & K, and about 15 other friends. Had a blast!! The sushi was WONDERFUL...especially the 3 orders that we wound up with that were miss-orders from somewhere and we got them for FREE!! I am sure I will pay for the 3 carafes of sake.. ;-) when I am running at 7:00 AM tomorrow.

Won a GREAT softball game last night...wooo hooo. The girls played awesome. 1-0 in 11 innings. So we are still in the playoffs.
Have to get going today....don't want to but I am sitting here doing this in hopes of it motivating me to get the day started...not sure it is working yet. Planning on a 4-5 miler later this morning and have a 14 miler scheduled for Sunday...Haven't run that far in about 15 years...gonna be fun (in a sick, twisted and perverted sort of way)
Garmin was not charged but I know the mileages on the trail by now. Got in 5 before our game and ran mostly on the dirt trails. Went about 8/1 and felt great...except for tripping on a root in the trail and busting my a$$.

Strange run today...tried out the new IPod...I like some HipHop....but not all of it...might have to hit the delete buttom....but one of my softball players was kind enough to load it sooooooo. (BTW...thanks Kacey :) ) First 3 miles were a breeze...didn't walk much (15/1) then the 4th mile was just hard and mile 5....SUCKED....But I got through it and this is the week that I start ramping up the weekly mileage so I needed to get this in.
I am convinced that when I am having a bad day (between my ears) it is the best thing I can do to get out and train....but damn...it is soooo hard to do that..today was not a great day mentally but I did get out and for that I am greatful..tomorrow I go and see Dr. GoodHands...so I hope that makes me feel better.
