OH YEAH...went to a Chi Running Clinic this morning and it was pretty cool.  Not the entire class just a 1 hr. free event put on bu our Tri Team.  I may go back for the class...this was cool.  I have been working on this type of running for about 6 months just from reading the book.  Most of what she taught today confirmed I was doing it mostly correct.

Went out for a run today and focused on the techniques...WOW...Felt fabulous.  Went out at a very comfy pace (2 miles) and realized I went out fairly fast for what was supposed to be a recovery run...no walking either.  Spent 30 sec. at the turn around doing the math and necessary adjustments for the new running shorts ;) and brought it back home 12 sec. NEGATIVE SPLIT.

Continued on the trail for a walk...looking for DS #1 who was getting his walk in (just starting his Sprint Tri Program....way to go Matt).  Walked for 20+ minutes.

Worked putting up a batting cage at school today and needed the stretching afterward.  Gets me "Peachy Challenge Points" and makes me feel better.  I should have been doing this for years.

It was late but I got it done.  Spin class at 7:30 tonight.  Got there early and stretched for a full 15 minutes.  I am starting to see some difference in the legs and hips with the stretching this month....As far as class goes.....AARG........please refer to Sunday's Blog on the Spin Instructor....OMG...UP, Down, Harder, Push it, Work it NOW, You aren't through YET....etc.  all at the top of her lungs.  I thought I was in a VERY BAD Porno.

Went out and jumped om the treadmill for 20 min.  Wasn't supposed to run but I felt great and I wanted to get all of the emasculating thoughts out of my head.  Ran mostly at about normal pace but stayed between 2 and 4% grade.

Tomorrow is an off day (but not from the Peachy Challenge) so I will have to do some more stretching and maybe some core work.

Got it done....it was cold as FRICK...ran 99% of the distance (very short walk in the middle)

Pretty good nights sleep last night for the first time in a while.  Going to work outside in the semi-cold today in the N. Ga. mountains.  Not looking forward to it...but HEY..there only a few folks that do what I do and they ain't the BEST.  Hi...my name is Steve...and I am a Total Pu$$y...(crowd says...Hi Steve).  I bailed on going to work at the N. GA. College softball field today because I am a total wuss.  When I was a firefighter I hated the cold but was man enough to take it...now that I am retired...not so much.  Have to go Friday and screw up a great weather day I could be running/riding in order to get something done I coule have done today.

Taking my stuff to run but it may have to wait until I get back home.  Done.  At the Suwanee Trail

Felt GREAT in the pool.  Yes...I just typed that and I really mean it.  I have seen other people put in their blog/thread that they finally "feel it".  Being a pitching coach I understand this concept but have never felt that way with swimming.  I have always had a natural stroke...I just hated the endurance part.  Well, I think I am "feeling it" in that I am becoming more efficient with my stroke and the 50's that were kicking my tail have turned into 100's and even though the 100's hurt like crap...I can go again after 30 sec. instead of 2 minutes rest.

Went to see Dr. GoodHands...she is the frickin BEST.  I am sure the swim this morning helped the back but she worked her magic and I feel like a million bucks...although I have a $100 body and a .10 cent brain...I still feel like a million.  ;)

The Stretching was more about self preservation than a workout.  I bagged the bike today because I put a minor strain on something in my back.  I AM going to get it done later in the week but decided to lay low today and go see Dr. GoodHands tomorrow.  Stretched for 20 and felt better and still get my Peachy Points.

Week 1 of "The Plan"

Mon:     Bike - 45 min. Easy
Tue:     Swim - 20-30 min. Recovery
Wed:    Bike - 60 min. Easy
Thu:     Run - 20-30 min. Easy
Fri:      Off (Core Work...No OFF days during Peach Challenge Month per AbbieR
  )
Sat.     Bike - 60-90 Easy
           Swim - 20-30 Recovery
Sun.    Run - 30-45 Easy

There are times when I wish I was in my 30's again...not very often, but occasionally.  This is one of them.  When I look at a plan like this and see that it is not overwhelming but then I realize it is listed as a week of "Active Recovery".  This is really going to MAKE me manage my time and energy better.  I have enough of both for this journey, I just don't always manage them properly..."oh look, there's a kitty"...yes, I am BLESSED with A.D.D. and I do call it a blessing.  This is going to be a very interesting ride.

We shall see.

Today we have our Kick-off for our Tri Team...2009 Edition.  Last year we had 43 people do their first Tri (including me).  This year we are hoping for 75-80 First-Timers.  It is going to be great to try and help some of these people change their lives.

Headed to the gym for spin class and a 20 min. treadmill migrane.

Spinning for 1 hour then 20 min. run.

OMG...this instructor....UP---DOWN---SCREAM---RACE---SIT---SCREAM---STAND---SCREAM---REST (screamed that too).....I wish I could take a Mila or a Yanti class...(sigh)

Felt REALLY good to run.  Went the 20 min. with no walk breaks.  Along with my swimming I am really going to work at running the distances/time without breaks.  I know how to pace myself off of those and I can do that if need be but I want to get back to running like I used to.

We shall see.
