took the zoomers today and did 5x100 with them. it was horrible. Think I might actually have been better off just swimming without them. Maybe I'll try that next time. Luv my pull bouy but sometimes I do feel guilty using it ALL the time.

Worman's Mill hood
promised myself that I would stick to the 3:1 run/walk this morning and I did. This actually felt good, mentally and physically. Just a touch cool this morning (wishing I had gloves) but just awesome to be outside moving. I am really looking forward to the 50K this weekend even though I know it is going to be painful both due to undertraining and the back issue.

This was just a walk around the neighborhood. Not even a power walk so I hesitate to log it but just the same it was forward progress on two feet. Beautiful evening. The leg seemed to act the same walking as it does running. It was pretty much OK for 30 min then started to hurt and actually hurt considerably more walking then it does running, or maybe I just don't have any endorphines to counter act it. but it was very bad by time I got home.

Got to the pool this morning and realised I had forgotten my clothes for work. Went home and had strong debate as to whether I should just shower at home and go to work or go back and try to get at least a short swim in. Obviously, I finally opted for the swim and very happy that I did.

Light rain but decided not to be a wimp and headed out. Leg was about the same as pre-injection (although it felt good throughout the day at work) felt OK running for the first 30 minutes, then the next 10 min it gets worse, by the end of the hour it hurts.

Went to Bob's Hill.
Decided I would try once again to follow the Catacton trail south from there rather than ascending the hill. Need to be able to do this cuz it is the turn around point of the 50K. Ended up at the river at the same place I always end up when I attempt to do this. Had a brilliant idea that maybe I needed to cross the river. Over I went. Still could not find any blue blazes. The water was knee deep, running, slipper rock bed and cold. Back across I went. Went again in the only other direction the trail goes which I knew would just take me to the picnic area. Yep. Turned back once more totally frustrated. Located what was the LAST blue blaze to be found and just couldn't figure out where the dang trail went. Then I looked across the river from that point and sure enough there was a blue blaze. I had just crossed at the wrong spot. Back across I went. Once I figured that out I didn't have any trouble following the trail but it is a tough course. First mile was 19:24 but much of that was being lost so it is still very slow going but maybe not quite as bad as these stats. Going to need lots of these runs if I'm to get a CAT Card.

Lots of families with young kids in the pool today, got lucky and got a lane. Felt alright today.

Went to kinetic half at lake Anna to support friends. Ran two hours of trail during bike leg then went back out for another hour hour during their run. Felt ok, not great. Got it done which was the important thing. Leg feels better while running then any other time. Although overall it is better today then yesterday but still hurts more than pre injection.
