Running from hotel to the trail system in Minneapolis, MN, along Mississippi River

So, conference ended in the afternoon and that gave me time to enjoy a nice run on the trail system that runs along the Mississippi River. What a fairly bike and running friendly place! I mean there are even two separate paths on this trail: one for bikers and the other for walkers/runners! That way you don't find yourself weaving around folks when you're riding and vice versa not having to worry about speeding cyclists while you're walking/running! Great system. I was thinking 1.5 hours and just about timed that correct though it was really that I reached the end of the running/walking trail and didn't want to impede cyclists. I stopped to take many pics along the way, especially along this one bridge across the river that's just for pedestrians and cyclists! What a city/town this is! If it wasn't so far north, might be some possibilities here. I may post some pics after I get back home. Relaxed in the hot spa at the hotel afterwards - AAAAhhhhhh..

Flying to AZ tomorrow and may get in a short morning run or aerobic machine workout. Probably won't have another chance as it will be a long day.

Sun - probably a run although may go to Sedona this day

Mon - Same as Sun

Tues - heading to Page AZ to take in the beauty of the slot canyons there

Wed - more slot canyons and tour of Lake Powell

Thurs - run?

Fri - run and then flying home

Easy treadmill at hotel

In Minneapolis, MN for a conference.  Long day and almost bagged this workout.  But, decided an easy treadmill workout would at least do something.  Ate far too much today, but I don't think the next few days will be overly detrimental.  Still, always tough to have any sort of routine when you're traveling.


Probably do the same thing tomorrow...maybe.


But as the conference ends earlier Friday, I will hopefully actually get outside then and for a longer run.  Maybe Sat morning too.  Will see.

Quick run around Ft D

Stats taken after run and before breakfast, %water 59.6.  Just a quick run around Ft D before I leave on my trip to Minneapolis.  Might do weights when I get there but may just save that for tomorrow evening/morning.  Later!

Nothing today.  Mostly just taking a rest day but also prep day for traveling tomorrow to Minneapolis.  I was considering an early morning run and still am.  So, best get to bed soon.

Stats taken after run and before lunch, %water 59.2.  Planned weights and run today.  I'll tell ya, though, I sure did need the sleep last night and still woke up feeling a bit tired today.  The week's activities have just taken their toll on me and hence why I'm taking a rest day before my trip.  It will probably be a light couple of weeks anyway considering I usually don't get the chance to workout like I would want when I travel and am on vacation.  Not feeling overly strong on weights today but it's okay.  Still got through the session and was able to add a few others.  I am thinking about changing up my routine a bit, especially in core and working hip flexors more.  

After weights, moved onto the run.  Gosh, started off slow cuz still feeling effects of yesterday's long ride.  But, guess I picked up considering the average pace for the distance.  It was overcast and a bit drizzly, so I was glad I did my ride yesterday instead.  Fairly wet too from the overnight hours.  It was good running weather, though it was humid.  So drinking more in this case.  It still turned out to be a good run!

Tomorrow:  rest day.  Final prep before trip

Tues: Still thinking I should do an early morning run around post before I leave in case I'm wiped out from traveling

Wed and Thurs: probably aerobic machines at the hotel

Fri: hopefully later afternoon run in Minneapolis, MN

Sat: maybe early morning workout before flying to Phoenix AZ and eventually to Prescott AZ.

Not sure about the rest of the week as got lots of sightseeing planned.
