I AM AN IRONMAN

May 9

Bike
  • 1h 36m 12s
  • 28.57 miles
  • 17.82 Mi/hr

first real outdoor ride (on roads longer than .10 miles long before having to turn...lol...nice ride for me!

Swim
  • 15m 27s
  • 914.00 meters
  • 01m 41s /100 meters

swim at lifetime fitness...outdoors...shorter distance per lap...

brick....bike - swim - bike.  Had to bike a 2nd time in order to end at someone's house...lol.  Made a slight detour (7 additional miles) because we weren't paying attention...we were supposed to turn onto Preston road...realized as we approached INDEPENDANCE that we overshot our runway by two major blocks (2 miles)....decided to continue to the NEXT major road (CUSTER)...down to Legacy and double back to Preston (where LTF is)....did our swim...back on the bikes and a much more direct ride back to the house (Legacy to 121 - how can we miss 121, right?)  Smart move...lol.  No issues...felt good on the bike...began to get used to the wind pushing us around a bit....MUST READ ABOUT THE WIRELESS BIKE COMPUTER....lots of information...no clue how to see/use/change it (yet)...but I've only had it a couple days (ok, a week)...but it will be read...I will know how to use every thing on my bike...LBS set up me...now I will become well acquainted with Eleanor so that I can take care of her every need... :-)

Group ride tomorrow...I think 46 or 48 miles...can't wait to meet some more of the BT peeps!

May 8

Bike
  • 16m 28s
  • 4.45 miles
  • 16.21 Mi/hr

first ride (through the neighborhood) with the new HED.3 wheels. Just introducing myself to Eleanor's new "heels". She was a little wobbly...but I think we can get used to the new "wheels".

Run
  • 1h 04m 19s
  • 6.20 miles
  • 10m 22s /Mi

Run followed the bike ride. Pseudo brick...well..it was a brick in my book...There was just enough rest to change out of the bike shorts/jersey and into my running gear. About 5 minutes between biking and running. Ran from the house...down Paige to 121...down 121 (scary!) to Spring Creek...went under the pass and back against the grain (traffic) back to Paige and back to the house (off S. Colony). looped a bit once I got near the house to get a full 10K in.

I like to train .

Run #1
  • 24m 57s
  • 3.10 miles
  • 08m 03s /Mi

treadmill run at work...felt great...not sure why, but I feel like running fast all of a sudden...I NEED some slow long runs...starting tomorrow... :-) I plan on swimming tonight, so we'll see how that all pans out.

Run #2
  • 05m 03s
  • 0.60 miles
  • 08m 25s /Mi

finished up my run for a total of 30 mins...OCD/anal, call it what you want...

Hopefully, I will update this with a swim tonight...but we'll see how the evening unfolds...apparently I am going on a bike ride this saturday with local BT'ers...this will be the 2nd such adventure...the last one was filled with WIND, wind and more wind...but great company.  Hopefully, with the bad weather predicted Wednesday/Thursday, we'll have good weather Friday - Sunday.

May 5

Run #1
  • 05m
  • 0.33 miles
  • 15m 09s /Mi

cool down

Run #2
  • 26m 34s
  • 3.10 miles
  • 08m 34s /Mi

intervals on treadmill.

the fast portion of the speed interval was much faster than I had practiced before...it actually felt good to get up into the Z4 area.  I don't think I've ever trained at this high of a HR...tomorrow will be a swim day and a Z2 5k.  Hopefully Chris' wheels come in tomorrow...he doesn't know it...but Friday is going to be a intruction of our bikes to the road!  heh.

May 3

Run #1
  • 10m 28s
  • 0.68 miles
  • 15m 25s /Mi

cool down walk back to the house.

Run #2
  • 26m 58s
  • 3.10 miles
  • 08m 42s /Mi

well...my feet were re-introduced to my running shoes tonight! Awwwww...it was such a sight to see...I think my left pinkie toe actually shed a tear at the sight of the running sock. :-) Did a aggressive run tonight...Some of it was to take out anger at things that happened (or rather...didn't happen the way I wanted them to) earlier in the day...part of the reason was to punish myself for taking too many days off before continuing my base training...and part of it was because I had someone coming to my house and I had to be sure to be home in time...lol. Felt great! HR was "up" there...but that's my usual zone run (mid 3) on most days. I will be mixing in slower runs as well as intervals...but tonight...it was about the speed. :-)
