Nice easy swim tonight - felt really good to get into the nice cool water.  Stroke felt good, took it pretty easy.  I'm amazed at how quickly I've recovered from the HIM compared to last year.

More moving chores to do now.

There's a good chance of severe weather tonight, but if not, I'm hopping on my bike.  No bike ride - spent the evening getting stuff ready for the move on Saturday.  I'll be glad when the move is behind us.

Just got home from an 8 hour drive.  RR to follow some time after I wake up.

What a great race weekend!  Set a new PR for Half Ironman of 6:01:32, which is 0:08:53 faster than my first last year, which was Racing for Recovery (and on an easier course).  What an amazing experience.  First, it was way cool to meet all the BTers: Bob (RStocks3), Teresa (TBatt), Kristen (SweetK), Rick (RKreuser), Mike (Marmadaddy) and Ron!  I cannot believe how downright friendly, fun, and cool everyone is.  Still strikes me funny that strangers from a social networking site are so nice and really supportive.

Robbie and I got to Geneva around 7:30 PM on Friday night, which was a lot later than I'd planned.  Ran into Bob and his son Matt who were getting ready to go out for a bike ride.  How did I know it was Bob?  I remembered the distinctive "fuel tank" he has on the back of the bike.  I ran into Teresa and Kristen at the Barn while I was getting a dining recommendation.  Very cool to meet them too!  We were starving, so we headed to the Cobblestone Restaurant, which is former stagecoach stop and tavern restored into a beautiful restaurant.  I had whole wheat penne with pesto and all sorts of tasty goodies.  It was awesome!

Got back to the dorm at Hobart & William Smith and had just enough energy to take the race timeline down to the second floor where I chatted with Bob, Teresa and Kristen, and tried to get a feel for how the weekend would go down.

Robbie and I stayed overnight on Sunday and returned to the Cobblestone Restaurant, where I indulged with crab cakes and a wicked panko crusted salmon dish with sweet potatoes.  Drive back today went pretty smooth.

Weather was perfect, the race was really well organized, and I had a blast!  What a great way to experience the first "A" race of the season.
