Terrible run. Started too fast in the heat of the day and didn't take water. Just a really crappy run.
Early morning mission (0200) meant sleeping through my morning run. I have a long run scheduled so I will do my best to get it in later this evening. That half-mary is right around the corner. :)

I'm sitting in the DFAC and I see a guy in an Air Force uniform and say to myself, "That looks exactly like a classmate of mine from high school." After a while, he gets up and walks past me and I see that his last name is the name of the guy I'm thinking of. I stick out my hand and say, "Excuse me, but are you..." and he goes into complete shock. Turns out that this TSgt (Air Force guy) and I graduated the same year. He's spent the last 18 years in the AF and I...well...came by a different route. We spent about 15 minutes or so just catching up sharing stories about fellow classmates and just really being stunned by the coincidence. Truly amazing...almost spooky.

Usual shoulder day cut short. See below.
I tweaked my back doing my weight training this morning. I don't get injured swimming, biking, or running (knock on wood) but I seem to have a propensity for getting hurt while lifting. Either I throw around too much weight or I have bad form or something. I have a mission that may prevent me from swimming this afternoon but I really hope not. I think a nice long swim would loosen my back.
I'm done with weight training for a while...
No swim this evening; my back is still really tight. I think the rotational movement would probably have helped it but getting to the gym would have hurt too much. Ugh.

Great run today! My 1600m repeats were supposed to be in 7:18 but I was able to push just a bit more. I could really feel the burn at the last but I felt like I could have done another repeat or two.
Results from Sunday's biathlon are out so I posted my RR. Improvements from March: 5 sec. faster per 100m (with 300m added) and 5 sec. faster per mile on the run (same distance). Not too shabby. Now, if I could just get a decent lap counter to improve my transitions, that would be GREAT! See RR for details...

Another late night made it hard to escape the gravitational pull of the rack this morning.
Football game didn't go well tonight. We won but we played like crap. Plus, I had a pretty bad fall and got a little road rash. I've had worse but it's still uncomfortable as heck.
